Probably would have been better off having Kyle Jr running the offense. The players already know his system and know him... Fitzpatrick is actually built for the Shanahan system. So far this year _ Kyle has been one of if not the most impressive OC out there...
Im noticing Russell Wilson being thrown into the discussion here...havent gone back to read about what the issue is, or who is saying what...but Wilson is easily one of the best QBs in the NFL. He's absolutely not just a "game manager"...he can make any throw on the field, he's intelligent, and he's mobile. He does what is needed to win games or keep his team in games. Just because he doesnt throw for 400 yards and 35 TDs a season doesnt mean he cant...it just means he's using his team's strengths to get the W. He's 100% in the same league as someone like Luck.
He has that offense moving in Cleveland _ and he does not have a Foster, AJ, and Nuk... He's going to get Brian Hoyer paid.
I'm not going to do this idiot's homework. Instead I'll encourage him to continue using Ryan Fitzpatrick in the same sentence as Tom Brady. Have at it, hoss.
It's not a problem as long as everyone is comprehending those sentences properly. No one thinks Fitz is an awesome QB, at least he's better than anything they have in Minnesota though right?
i realize no one thinks Fitzpatrick is "an awesome QB". the problem is you thinking he's a "starting QB", while he's the 2nd worst starting QB in the NFL. he's an average back up.
What I said about Tom Brady's season up to this point is fact...it's not an opinion. His ypa and rating were both among the lowest in the NFL. You sound like a 5 year old every time you post...so save yourself and walk away from the keyboard.
Well that might be your opinion, but you aren't that good when it comes to evaluating talent at the QB position so it explains why it would be your opinion.
Based on what, though? What's the criteria? Fitzpatrick ranks: 23rd in QBR 9th in YPA 24th in TD% 13th in Comp% He is 3rd in INT%. And yes, overall, Ryan Fitzpatrick is not a good QB. No one is (hpefully) arguing otherwise. But other than the game in NY and some slow starts, he's actually been serviceable, which, again, is about all anyone should expect of him. He'll never be better than the team around him. But if he can play the way he did Thursday - and the rest of the team can play for 4Qs the way they played Qs 2-4... they can win games. Their running game is very good and their defense is forcing TOs and, again 1stQ exlcuded, running RAC's bend-don't-break scheme to perfection. In fact, the Texans' D looks *exactly* like some of those Pat defenses - they thrived on red zone TOs.
