Would you call what Stone and the Org are doing, tanking?

Rockets Fans Don't Act like it has never Happened before in Houston Sports.

The Astros constantly traded away Veterans around 2010 on and Tanked for 3 seasons.

Tanking = Top the Draft

Carlos Correa
Mark Appel - Didn't work out
Alex Bregman
Kyle Tucker

Jose Altuve was part of those 3 bad seasons

It all worked out and the Astros are a Dynasty.

 

You said it yourself though, no matter what we do the root of the problem is still there. No matter what we build, if the foundation is built on that megalomaniac, it'll always be a house of cards ready to crumble. If we do end up with the 1st pick I hope Wemby is willing to at least work out here cause we know Mobley didn't want anything to do with us.

 

Silas and KPJ need to be gone.

The offense runs smoother when Alperen Sengun starts the Offense, or Jalen Green and Sengun play a Pick and Roll Offense.

I dont see the Tilman interview being too relevant at this part of the season, if it was opening day and he said that it would be a different story. They likely tried to win, but did a poor job drafting and there is not enough talent to win, and they have an awful coach. If they drafted guys like Giddey, Banchero, or made some decent trades for guys they would look more like OKC, showing solid improvement. Instead they have regressed. Stone seemed genuine last year in saying he expects some level of improvement this year, but also said he expected them to still struggle as a young team. I think these guys have underperformed their own expectations. I genuinely think they were tryin to rebuild in a similar way that OKC has, but they have failed, so are going the Philly route.

Any GM who puts a terrible product on the floor, night after night, two and a half years into his tenure — and then uses the word "inherited" three times in a sentence — should be fired.

 

I do think the Astros are a fair comparison because while people now will say "The Astros had a plan, they were smart, they knew..." nah...a lot of people were mocking the Astros then. Sure, you had people that predicted they'd be contenders a few years down the line you have people that think that of the Rockets too.

In the end, it's a risky game to play. 5 years from now Stone will look like a genius or a complete fool.

Of course we are tanking. We only have young players and no vets to guide the group, or do the little things. We want to lose (not the players and Silas, but the front office).

Next year we want to win, So I expect that we will try to sign some vets this offseason, and get a new coach.

 

The Rockets are going to be better, just need a PG and a Taller Center that can Shot Block, The Core needs to Develop in Physically, Shooting, Dribbling, Passing.
