Don't do it, I have had too many friends pass away due to motorcycle wrecks. People in Houston can barely drive with other cars around them, much less have the respect for someone on a motor cycle.
I'll stick with the 900 though. 1100 might be pushing it, for a newbie. Pretty bike though - Well kept and shiny with low miles. Should sell fast.
Awesome. If you change your mind, let me know. Just so you know, I thought 1100 would be way too much for me, but its a great bike to start on that isn't lacking for power once you get used to it. Have fun and BE SAFE!
I passed my driver's test last week and will be shopping for a bike this weekend. I decided to get a Sportster 1200C. Texan Harley should be able to get me a bike at MSRP. This is kinda what I had in mind. Not the actual bike though.
Not the sportsters as much as other models. The sportsters are considered by many to be entry level Harleys or Chick-harleys. Of course many Harley riders have an opinion of themselves and their bikes which are way out of whack. Just buy what you like and have fun riding it. Don't worry too much about resale or what others think.
100% true but if he's ever eating pretzils don't be surprised if someone comes up to him and asks, ""May I have one of those, madam?".
Sporties are great bikes. Much better than "real" Harleys (especially Softtails). Great choice, have fun.
I changed my mind at the last moment and coughed up extra money and bought the Street Bob. This thing is amazing to ride. I got the Black Denum paint.
You know there is a saying: Driving a car is metal covering the meat, riding a motorcycle is meat covering metal. Be safe and good luck!
