Rudy said they were playing the motion all game. That's what I saw too...

Really though, if Cat was at the three and he had that many scoring opportunities, our 3's should get some opportunities...

If we win 50 games it will be a joy to watch regardless of what type of offense we win. Give me the play offs any day of the week. I damn sure don't want to give Memphis a lottery pick this year.

Who gives a **** how we win. Just win. The 94 Rox weren't the prettiest team ever but in June who cared? I pull for the team to win. The Oilers pretty run-n-shoot crap was nullified by down and dirty football played to win. Just ask KC and Joe Montana (Sorry for the football reference. I know that may have went over some of you guys heads)

Am I the only one who noticed that the Rockets were NOT running the "stand-around iso" offense against Indiana? Sure, Moochie and Steve did a lot of dribbling, but the rest of the team was not standing still. I saw a lot of off the ball movement. Give the Rockets a chance to get this thing down. The Kings didn't become instant offensive geniuses. It took time.

As others have said, give the Rockets ten games before judging the new offense.

ZRB, what happened, you hit your head on some household appliance and turned into your alter ego like charles did in an episode of charles in charge.

Or did you and the voice of the reason agree to trade monikers?

Because I like the new "you" on the bbs.

You are absolutely correct. Last years ISO's were clear outs where 3 or 4 players were on the other side of the court standing flat footed while steve, cat or mooch went one on one against their man. Against Indiana there was none of that. There were plenty of times we had cutters going to the basket and a lot of player movement. Steve just dominated the ball against Indy so there was a lot of dribbling and not much ball movement.

So last season, 3 or 4 players move to the weak side (other side of the lane) and we call that ISO. This season, we see some high PnR's and some 2 man games where Steve keeps the ball and doesn't dish it. I don't see much net difference.

Hey, at least last year the other 3 or 4 guys could stand in one place and rest. Having them move around the court while the big 3 do the same thing they did last year will just wear them down.

I think one of the biggest reasons that the ISO offense isn't desireable is because it induces injuries. If Francis is crossing over and splitting defenders on his way into the teeth of the opposing defense on every single play, we will probably see a lot more sprained ankles and blown dunks (like the frightening one last game).

Improving our passing will lessen the need to beat defenders with athletic moves.

Winning 50 games using iso - Winning while covered with sh*t.

Missing the playoffs using 5-man offense - Die in glory, but it's impossible. :p

The end result may be the same but the offense is not. If you have read any of my other posts you would have seen me say that if Steve is not going to pass then we might as well go back to the clear outs that we were doing last year. The current offense is not the same though.

I just have a different POV of what this season is about. I don't think there is anyone that's responded believes we'll make it to the NBA Finals. Everybody knows this all about getting there the quickest way.

Let me put it this way, if MoT gets 22 pts. 8 rbs. and plays 35 minutes a game this year I don't think that points us to being a contender next year or the year after, but that might be enough to get us to the second round of the playoffs, and that's too big a sacrifice for E. Griff. getting 13 minutes a game.

This team might be better off this year giving Yao 11 minutes a game, Nachbar getting garbage time and I still would think it's a waste (except to Les' bottom line).

I understand "iso's" are an important part of the best offenses, but you've either got to have either passing or motion to make iso's truly effective, and when they are ineffective, well Gator said it all. We need our future involved even if the Steve & Cat isos are a better option for this season

I want championships, E. Griff. and Yao playing major minutes I think will get us there quicker. RudyT's would be crucified with either option.
