I agree. Thank you Morey for doing nothing. In this case, doing nothing is better than doing something. For one, I'd rather not have Amare Stoudamire on this team.
I actually agree with the OP to some extent - the whole Yao thing was a fluke, especially since the team of doctors taking care of him is the same team that rehabbed his other injuries, but I'm honestly very disappointed in Morey for not making headlines today. I feel like a lot of the other major contenders did something significant over the past couple of days, like Shaq to Cleveland and Carter to Orlando, but the Rockets have done nothing to improve their roster. Even with this current squad as is, you can't really say we've even maintained status-quo among our competitors (we've probably dropped a couple notches in terms of our roster in comparison to the aforementioned teams). True, there are negatives to even the Amare deal, but its SOMETHING. I think there's a lot of Rockets fans who will be collectively disappointed before the season even begins, EVEN if we get the number 3-7 pick (unless its Rubio). Having said that, I realize its a long offseason, but I'm among those people sad to see all of those big names we were hoping to get via trade gone so early in the offseason. Of course, maybe Morey proves us all wrong and trades for Amare anyway and also gets Bibby to sign over here as well to reunite with RA... Here's to tonight's draft nonetheless though.
Amen. All the cost-cutting that's going to take place could provide for some crafty pick-ups for our team.
why is everyone telling him to calm down? isnt that what this forum is for, express frustration? he isnt cursing anyone. I can almost bet a lot of you feel the same way (I know I do, SA just got better for NOTHING, as did Orlando and now Phoenix might get more depth). Only thing is he is typing it and telling it like it is. We're waiting for something to happen cause we expect so much from him, maybe we expect too much?
What really really bugs me is to think that apparently we could have traded Rafer Alston for Vince Carter.
If nothing happens I'll be happy because we don't need anything. No big holes to fill. Backup center and thats it. We are pretty much set. The teams thats making deals are teams that need to make deals. The Rockets are straight.
And you don't think a backup center is a HUGE need? Yao cannot be counted on to play every game. As a matter of fact we need to REDUCE his minutes to that in the playoffs he can make all the way through. If we start the season with a backup center then this team is SCREWED.
This idea isn't a draft pick but I wish we could TMac and Cook to Memphis and get Marc Gasol and O.J. Mayo. Both are good players and Memphis seems to give up players.
I am very surprised so many deals can be called steal. but none of them has something to do with Rockets...
well if were not going to make any significant trades or none at all, I guess that means we are hoping were all healthy next season.
