you are missing a point dude. He thinks he's better than the organization and the organization stood up like Rosa Parks and said I'm not gonna go to the back of the bus and that we're tired of you throwing people under the bus. It's not "if" we let him play. not a "I-F", it was a "F-U"
I'm still confused as to why people say he thought he was better than the organization? Was it solely because he needed microfracture surgery? What in the lines of him saying " I want more minutes" implies I am better than the organization?
I guess you missed out on alot of things that stemmed back to last season. But I'll let you do that research. First of all, Adelman has dealt with this same situation before, it was a player named Chris Webber. go look up that thread, I started it. Second of all, RICK ADELMAN IS THE COACH OF THE ROCKETS. if he has conflicts on what Rick wants him to play, than that's not good for the team or Tmac. They already got rid of JVG, they won't get rid of Adelman. Third. Stephen A Smith, if you don't understand how that ticked the Rockets off, then I can't help you.
Sure but they lost some key players in order to sign Mcgrady and Grant Hill. If they had Grant Hill it would have been a while different story. Sure I agree Drexler in his prime could be comparable to TMAC, but he barely played here at all and most of his better days were past him by the time he became a Rocket. He did have flashes of brilliance but he wasn't close to the player he once was. But then again I can still argue that TMAC is better than Drexler. I do agree that he just didn't have the drive that some of the great ones do, but he was a 2 time scoring champ and arguably the best player in the league when we got him. The excitement that came with him just isn't the same as when we acquired KMART. Once again I am not a TMAC only fan. I still like the Rockets and I understand why they made the trade for KMART. He fits our system better and we need shooters around Yao Ming, but I just don't like how everyone on this board bashes TMAC sometimes he deserves sometimes he doesn't so I feel like someone should defend him. To me he will always be my second favorite rocket of all time. Everyone knows who number 1 is and always will be.
only replying to give a little star, but it's not like a star on your homework paper in 2nd grade. No.
WRONG. Then he's NOT GREAT. Dream was never a scoring champ, you think Tmac is better than him? Really? Did he win the MVP? Did he win finals MVP? Did he win anything?
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=150093 SLAM: I was trying to think of a current player who kind of fits your mold, and the guy I thought of first was Tracy—he plays in Houston, I know he’s struggled to get out of the first round and you had a run where it took a little while. DREXLER: I made it to the playoffs every year. We made it to the second round my second year—we beat Dallas my second year. Nah, we beat Dallas my second year, then the next two or three years we played the Lakers in the first round. [He was right, of course—they lost in the first round five of his first six years, with the exception being that second year. I misread the Blazers’s Basketball Reference page and paid the price. So of course I plowed ahead anyway.] SLAM: But is Tracy someone… DREXLER: Tracy is certainly one of the finer players in the League, he has a lot of talent, and a good guy, and I certainly enjoy watching him play. But I don’t like to compare players. Not even if they even close. Our games are similar in the fact that we’re very talented and make it look easy. But there are certain aspects of our games that I think are completely different. Because I was more of a passer, a penetrator, making my teammates better. I really worked on efficiency, making the game easier so we could rest and get ready for the next game. So those are my thoughts, and Tracy is more of a scorer, he’s gonna score in bunches. I coulda done that, but I was really focused on making my teammates better and making the game easier.
You can say I'm wrong all the time, but there isn't any facts that prove that Drexler was better as a Rocket. He only averaged like 18 pts a game in Houston. Sure we won it all but TMAC could have won with Hakeem. Even Rafer could have won with Hakeem. Clyde Drexler in the playoffs and Regular season averaged almost the exact same. 20.4 pts 7 rebounds 6 assists. He was way more consistent, but consistency doesn't make you better. TMAC elevated his game like no other when it mattered. You can hate all you want, but he was brilliant in the playoffs I don't care if he got out of the 1st round or not. Do you dare say he wasn't the best player on the court in every playoff series we played with him? I mean sometimes its a team game, and you can't win all by yourself. Lets look at KOBE for example. How many times did he get out of the first round without Gasol or Shaq? 0. I mean with the talent in the NBA today no one player can carry a team like they use to be able to. Especially since the NBA extended the 1st round of the playoffs to 7 games.
Like Clyde would admit TMAC is better. I think the best part of TMAC's game is that he is the best wing passer in the league (Pre Lebron). Ask Jeff Van Gundy. I have a hard time agreeing with anything Clyde says anymore after listening to him do color commentary for TV. He'd probably say playing TMAC is like "Clubbing Baby Seals"
Sheesh. If I'm in the playoffs, give me Sweet Lou or McCray on the wings before giving me T-Mac. Even Robert Reid. Not kidding. None of those three guys had any bit of their souls that could have done what T-Mac did with the whining, quitting, and pouting. Not one cell of those guys could have done what Tracy did in that Toronto game.
Good for you! My opinion is my opinion, you don't have to agree with it. I can respect yours, but I still think he's the best wing player we've ever had. I do wish he would have tried more, but can you blame the guy. He just didn't like basketball. Its like when we are at work do you give 100% all the time or do you check clutchfans, espn, fantasy sporst, facebook, twitter etc? How motivated are you really since we already get paid? He got paid 23 million to go home. Man I wish I could get paid 23 million to go home.
I think I 'm speaking for most guys and some girls in here when I say... STOP WITH THE T-MAC THREADS ALREADY!!!! HE'S GONE. GET OVER IT!!!! T Mac is only a shell of of former self. And to answer the op's question, T Mac wouldn't be able to help a D-League team out.
Tracy was the best player some of us have ever seen. Better than Akeem, Jordan, and Kobe. We know how good he was when he was scoring like a machine. He was the best. He could be 0/12 and shoot himself to above 50% in the late 3rd and 4th quarter.
It is actually false to think you must post to rate a thread, you can do that by jsut opening the thread and clicking on the ratings drop-down box at the bottom of the page. No, it will be closed once I get tired of seeing it on the first page.(Im almost at that point right now...but not just yet)
