In order to absorb 23 Million, you have to give up 23 Million, a difficult proposition for most teams. A contender isn't going to give any assets of real value (or rather, any assets that would impede their ability to compete) and their picks would be next to worthless. Morey played this the best he possibly could have played this -- I wish y'all could see this.

    Nope.

According to Walsh there would have been no deal if Tmac couldn't play.

D'antoni and the Knicks have been targeting Tmac, they will offer him a deal after they throw money at whoever...unless Tmac pisses them off in his rental deal.

What contender would be willing to gut their team to match that 23 million dollar contract without giving trash contracts/overpaid scrubs that Morey wants no part of? We got the trash contract in Jeffries, but we made out like bandits with the draft picks which no contender could offer...because most likely the Knicks will still be worse than them in 2011 and 2012.

Sure.. maybe they did destroy his trade value.. but there weren't many other teams that were willing to make blockbuster trades and give up their assets.

But at the same time...if you play TMAC, the team would go back to being T-MAC dependent. Just look at the last few years.. tmac would be out for a few games, the team would learn to play without him, he'd come back, and they'd just look for him to do everything and would hurt the team rather than help.

Letting Tmac play more would have hurt the development of this team.

Tmac likes to hold the ball and then make decisions. He cant make decisions with movement. He gets the ball... thinks about what he's gonna do. RA's offense isnt about standing around and thinking... its abt making quick reads and quick reactions.

    Most do see this.

We have a TON of flexibility now.

And you know what? Both Yao and Tmac had to take turns dominating the ball. Something Martin doesn't have to do because he can play off ball so well as we have seen. He doesn't need a Isolation play to keep him satisfied like Tmac.

LOL. You forgot to add his most important and most known quality.

    Second round Virgin.

T-mac is not a leader. Will never be a leader.

It allowed us to distributed meaningful minutes to players that are in our long-term plans, like Chase Budinger.

It kept what was an obvious distraction away from a team that was competing.

It kept McGrady from injuring himself again or playing his value down.

Again, like I said, how he performed this season was irrelevant. We weren't going to keep him, and teams only wanted him for the expiring money.

Ariza was never intended to be a playmaker or distribute. He's here for his defense and opportunity points.

Aside from that, he's in our long term plans. McGrady was not.

True teams only wanted him for his expiring contract and why is that because RA didnt give mac a chance to play. Maybe just maybe some teams would of wanted tmac for more then just his expiring contract if RA let him play

You're absolutely right... BUT, you STILL DONT GET IT.

I'm agreeing with you when you say Tracy's still got game left.. absolutely he can be a #1 option on some teams...

BUT.. the Rockets dont have him in their plans to move forward. This team is better off now and in the future than it would have if Tracy was still part of this team. Until you understand that, you'll keep arguing for no reason.

CAN YOU guarantee that he'd be back next yr with the rocketS? NO you cant.

Morey did what he believed was in the best interest for this organization.

I wasnt a fan of the Steve Francis for Tracy trade, but you suck it up, and move on and wish the outgoing players the best of luck in with their new team.
