ROFL! Right. How many times were you asked if you were a liberal the last time you visited overseas? Oh, BTW, who used the cruise missiles to kill some innocents and destroy a mosque? Could it be...Clinton?
Originally posted by Timing You love saying things are irrelevant and you even keep mispelling irrelevant. As you should know, that is poor netiquette. You say who bombed Pearl Harbor is irrelevant but then you say we declared war on both of them because they were allied. That would seem to say who bombed Pearl Harbor was pretty damn relevant. LOL We only declared war on Germany because it declared war on us. It is often mentioned as one of Hitler's greatest mistakes. If Algeria had bombed Pearl Harbor we probably wouldn't have declared war on Germany. Or maybe we would have, we all know that the US loves to oppress the "lesser people" of the world so that we can have cheap tennis shoes. Our cheap shoes may come back to haunt us. It is not funny.
shanna, I am shocked! I thought that I could rely on death, taxes, and your empathy. I have plenty of b-school training also and enjoy a good discussion on market forces, but after actually looking at the conditions these people live in, I must throw out all such arguments and accept the fact that these people are being horribly exploited. Plain and simple. We cannot always rely on foreign governments to protect all of their people from exploitation, either. Just because they take no action, does not mean that we should condone the practice, right? Aren't we ALL brothers and sisters? These people's living conditions are atrocious and inhumane. I would recommend to all here that until you actually SEE the videos, that you do not defend Nike. What they are doing is wrong. I almost brought this up in another thread as an example of what leads to hatred of our country. We all have to be aware of this. He said the local community called the women from Nike 'walking ghosts who work in Satan's factory' (mereka pergi dan pulang seperti hantu dari pabrik Setan). http://www.insideindonesia.org/edit51/hancock.htm
