True, but we are dealing with the "Now" - where Islam and the fundamentalist portion of it are a major problem.

Yet Christianity reformed because everyone had access to the Bible in their native tongue thanks to the printing press which helped suppress political Christianity and significantly lessened the clout that the Catholic Church had.

Islamic extremism is quite different. A large share of ISIS fighters can read and write in Arabic and understand the Quran and the hadith quite well.

Illiteracy isn't an excuse for political Islam primarily because the Quran and the hadith advocate political Islam(formation of an Islamic government).

I actually agree with 'Trump' when he wants to remove military bases from Okinawa, S. Korea, and Guam. It would be a truly honorable thing to do.

Actually - Martin Luther was the one that translated the bible from Latin and made it accessible to the masses.

The Catholic church was selling favors to get dead relatives a spot in heaven and out of purgatory and Martin Luther helped end that with his translation.

Exactly. The printing press allowed the Bible to be translated in mass in many different languages so when the mass actually read the New Testament for themselves and realized that Jesus wanted a more 'personal relationship with God' than having an overreaching empire dictating religious tenants, the Catholic Church lost a large chunk of its clout.
