No to Vlade. part of me says yeah let's take him so we sill not have to endure his flopping anymore. He is old and a hard time moving around last year. He has lost like two or three steps over the past two seasons. If I were the Rox I would go after J Przybilla. He's not as tough as Cato but the kid pulls down rebounds. Besides I should expect to see Yao in the game for 30-35 min a night so Przybilla will be relegated to playing whatever is left. But for jeebus sake don't use all the MLE on him cause he is not worth it.
I'd love to have Vlade on this team. Not only could he serve as the backup center for a couple of years, but he could really teach Yao a few things, esp. passing out of the post. I know we all see Yao's great passing potential, but honestly, he's rarely been able to capitalize on his passing skills over the couple of years in games. That could be a function bad teammates, bad inside position, double teams, inexperience, or a host of other things. Nevertheless, Vlade is perhaps the best passing center of our time, and he could help Yao out with the nuances of passing from the 5. Can you imagine how much better he could make T-Mac & the rest of the Rockets if he could pass like Vlade? Scary!
Word is that Vlade is asking for at least MLE out there. That's why teams like L.A. and Dallas are not jumping on him. The Kings are trying to resign him for about 2 mil. per year, but he's not biting.
No Przybilla, please. He can't stay healthy and doesn't even pretend to be able to put the ball in the basket. I beg to differ
If Clark is healthy, and, more importantly in his case, motivated, he may end up being the steal of this free agent crop. He is an UFA, I believe.
Very Solid Numbers. It was reported that Kings only can offer him 2.5 mil. Rockets can bet that for sure. Center usually can play for long time, their game is not focused on quickness.
Sure, Vlade would be a great addition, but I think he is going to sign with the Lakers to be their starting center. DD
