There's no such thing as a free lunch. You are banging her baby and complaining about her on the internet and for all of that you offer a free meal.

What's the competitor's restuarant called? I can tell you how many places are better.

i'm willing to bet that if the g/f's mother ate at the parents' restaurant every day, there'd be a thread complaining about her free loading.

    lol, is that a threat?

a bit defensive, are we? it wasn't even an insult. jeez. you're complaining about the mother eating somewhere else. all i'm saying is if she ate at your parents restaurant all the time, there'd be complaining about her freeloading. it happens.

look, the comment wasn't meant to be malicious. sorry if it came off that way. my point is, it's nice that your parents offer the free meal. but if your g/f's mother ate there all the time, your parents will eventually feel a bit of resentment towards her b/c they might feel taken advantage of. it's natural.

we're all willing to help friends but when we offer friends an inch, but they take a mile, it doesn't sit well with us.

And I understand where she's coming from. But in my culture, you eat for free till the end. Going to a competitor is weird, but it's not like she was player hating, I think she just didn't want to seem like a free loader, which I think I've stated several times here. I know message boards tend to incite a "pile it on" mentality. My only disappointment is that I couldn't get my message across because of my communication skills. I am American but from another culture as well.
