I'll eat at your folks place for free. I'll even put my opinion on here! Apparently you have a free meal that she's dissing, anyway. Why not let the culinary master of this board have a look-see?

I can totally understand how you feel, but there are dozens of reasons for her to do this. Bottom line is regardless of how bad it is:

    1. You aren't going to change her behavior,
    2. You're just going to accomplish getting your blood pressure up, and
    3. This is your girlfriend's momma...she will teke up for her momma and that causes bigger problems in your life and relationship.

Again...I can see your point, but you may just want to let it go knowing that you are in the right and she is in the not as right.

She's probably scoping out the competition so she can report back to your folks on enemy movements. It's top-secret, so your parents haven't even told you.

    Lol.

Calm down, hombre. Have you asked why she eats at your competitors? If it bothers you so much, why not talk about it to her. Problem solved.

Does she eat free at your restaurant? If so, maybe she doesn't want to look like a freeloader every time she comes in.

If not, it's her money and maybe she doesn't want to be a local celebrity at your restaurant. Eating alone is very underrated.

I was at Panera Bread one time and saw a boyfriend and girlfriend eating there together. The guy was a Best Buy employee and the chick was from Circuit City. My mind was blown. So no, you shouldn't just have sex with your kind. Wait, what was the question?

If it bothers you, then you see something wrong with it. I can see why it would. It would bother me.

I just don't want to see you banging your head against the wall on this.

Maybe she doesn't want it to seem like she's looking for a free meal. Or, maybe she likes the other restaurant better. Or maybe she doesn't like you. Or, maybe she doesn't like your parents. Or maybe you got drunk one night and told her what goes on in the kitchen at your parent's restaurant.

Technically, isn't every restaurant a competitor to your parents'?

I guess I can understand a little bit about what you feel. I work for a large company that makes many products. There are some pretty direct competitors to my company and often my friends and family buy products from the competitor.

It does irk me a little, but its their money and they can spend it however they want. They don't owe it to me to buy from my company.

    *economist's point of view*
You can't make or break a company the size of Coke or Pepsi. People who think like this probably also think that their vote makes a difference in an election.
