Would the Rockets have drafted differently had they known Yao was going to retire?

    Hell yes. The Clippers offered Lamar Odom and the 9th pick. Amare was picked 10th. So the Rockets could of gotten both Lamar and Stat.

    Would they have drafted differently? um ...I really hope not. If Yao's retirement announcement would have changed any of their draft plans, i'd say they are the dumbest organization in the NBA. Even the mentally challenged among us would have proceeded as if Yao was done. In fact, that should have been our approach for the last two offseasons, and we've seen the results of clinging to false hope about Yao's health. Anything we got from Yao needed to be treated as a bonus and i trust that the front office finally learned their lesson.

    correct me if im wrong but i thought the OP meant: Drafting differently THIS YEAR. not when we drafted Yao...

    Personally I would have been upset if we ended up with just MM and Parsons at the draft. LOL we now have 3 forwards at the rotation, someone's gonna ride the pine.
