Perhaps the 7'6" guy from China let the Rox know?

I doubt it. We went for the best player available.

The Rockets knew, anyone with half a brain knew that Yao was done.

Yes, we would have traded out of the first pick. No doubt in my mind. Seven seasons ain't a career.

They knew before the draft. Best player available is their draft approach.

Yao Ming informed Rockets four weeks ago that he would be retiring.

For hypothetical sake? Yeah they would have traded the number one pick for someone they knew would be a star. This is speaking hypothetical and since if they know Yao is gonna be a retiree and they know who will be good? They will probably have a Championship team off of knowing who to trade for before hand. Thats why it takes skill to guess. They could have guessed Yao at 7 foot 6 might have a short career and may have brought them a championship in that short time. Which I think is what they were thinking. If not? They should have guessed Yaos career would be short nd traded that pick or drafted someone else. It was pretty easy to guess knowing big men history of that size.

Mchale's interview stated they were high on both morris twins, had they both been available I wonder if they still would have chosen marcus, since his brother had been a late blooming shot blocker and rim protector.

yeah it was reported Yao let them know in time for the draft...might be why they went after donatas, as Morris was BPA.

Mute issue. They already stated they were drafting as if Yao was not in the picture and moving on in the same fashion.

They were high on Donatas after his two workouts for them. They took him because they felt he too was BPA at 20 after trading up.

If they stayed at 23, Donatas would have been gone at 21 or 22. If that were the case, they were going to take Parsons at 23. They liked him a lot too.

That's why there were rumors of the Rockets trying to purchase a high second round pick. They wanted to take Parsons before someone else. Just so happened, they realized he was going to fall to their 2nd round pick and Minnesota sold it back to them before that too became unnecessary with the Flynn injury mess..

If Yao had not been drafted by Rockets, maybe Yao has not been injured, Yao would play untill 40 years old

Moot. The word you're looking for is "moot", not "mute".
