Tell that to McGrady right now...

PG while I agree about Rasheed and what his TALENT is, I'm not so sure you want his BAGGAGE and chemistry problems. Think of the load you put on the coaching staff alone - and the players.

Your statement above answers itself. When the PF's are big and less mobile Cato does fine. When they are more finesse MoT does fiine. You are not going to stop the TD, KG, Dirk types anyway. The offense they bring together and their combination of strengths is by itself bigger than the separate aprts - it's symbiotic... not caustic  ;)

Rasheed does not pose chemistry problems any more than Micheal Curry would.

The only question with Wallace is his motivation and on-court antics. Well, coming to the Rockets would surely motivate him, and so far this season, he's held his oncourt antics to a minimum - I don't think he has a technical yet.

Think about it for a second... Does Rasheed Wallace have anymore of a character issue than Mo Taylor? Does he need to be motivated any less than MoT and Cato have to? It takes a GREAT deal of motivation to keep MoT and Cato playing, and Mo has routinely been on the suspended list recently. Even excluding the wrong one, he's had his fair share of run-ins with the league. He's a good guy maybe, but the very same can be said about Wallace.

It would be VERY VERY stupid to pass on Rasheed Wallace if we didn't have to give up Steve or Yao. Can you imagine? That's 3 spots locked up right there, 40 minutes a night. At which positions? C, PF, and PG. All we'd need at the 2 and 3 would be some barely decent role players. Adrian Griffin, JJ, Boki and Pike could take all the minutes at the 2/3.

I cannot believe I'm hearing that we'd ratehr have MoT and Cato than Sheed. Hell, tell the Blazers they can have ANYTHING they want other than Francis and Ming. If they like anything, then get it done.

Let's say Cato and MoT collectively are as good as Rasheed, and their combined contracts are equal to Rasheed. Well then, isn't it a rule in trades that it's always best to get the best individual player in the deal?

Yao and Wallace are both superb passers, can both play in the post, have amazing range, and are great rebounders. I can't even begin to imagine how amazing this line-up could be:

    Yao
    Wallace
    A Griffin/JJ(sixth man)
    Pike
    Francis

Rasheed is the most complete four in the West,

He has range to guard Nowitzki
The strength to match Webber, Duncan and Malone
The athletcism to hold Garnett and Stoudamire

He may not be better at each individual talent than the others, but he is the most complete package including all of those talents.

The guy may be an *******, but he is no Eddie Griffin. At least Rasheed is on the court playing.

Remember, Sheed's contract expires after this season. If we were to trade Cato and Taylor for this expiring contract, we would free up lots of cap space.

No way Portland would do this trade.

    Cato 3-4 against Wallace.

    Combined 8-15 against Wallace 3-12 17 rebounds for the Rocks PF's! Still want to trade both for a 17 million dollar loser? :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

if you're just arguing the talent and dollars (and not baggage) then hell yes i do. stop trying to pretend mo t and cato added up somehow equal rasheed. he could spread the floor b/c he can shoot all the way out to 3 land (which even mo t can't do), he can post smaller guys, can bother big pf's with his length (garnett has had lots of bad games against portland over the last few years and i believe duncan also had several bad games one year against portland, coincidence?), and has some quickness to guard the mobile, face up guys. like pgabriel said, rasheed is quite a complete package and certainly worth more than mo t and cato based on talent given that he gives you both O and D on the court at the same time for about 40 minutes instead of having to choose one for 48 minutes.

now would i trade for him given how volatile he can be, maybe, maybe no. but if steve patterson wants to hold on to sheed, he shouldn't make that offer to me.

and i gotta give Sane props for managing to trade mobley off the team w/o him even being involved in the original trade. bravo.

That's what we need, a 3-12 guy jacking 3's on this team...

So can MoT, he did it to Portland, I mean Rasheed... :p

Prove it and prove it was because of JUST Rasheed....

Key word "some". So does MoT. Even some bigger quick guys like Rasheed (see: 3-12)

Complete with "head case" problems, and some real chemistry problems. One injury away from leaving us with Ford and Braggs for weeks if not a year. Complete with see ya next year I'm going to Miami or Orlando. No thanks, he's a real good player, yea a player....

Cato played 48 minutes at PF? Did MoT play 48 minutes at PF? No. Duh....

Not enough ball and too far from the good hydro for Rasheed down here... MoT might like it there though.... ;) :p

No ****. I've always wanted Wallace on the Rockets...until I read that.

He needs to stay as far away as possible.
