Have to agree. Good luck seems to be aligning with Houston sports this year for the most part. Like Altuve, it's finally Harden's year.

Doesn't matter. Has the narrative behind him. That's all he needs.

he hasn't got a hope in hell. There is no narrative, he joined the number 1 seed from last season. Harden is miles ahead of him

If voting ended today Harden would be the second unanimous MVP.

Right now, James Harden is the best basketball player on the planet. Better than Lebron.

As soon as the Rockets have a better record than the Celtics (and they most assuredly will), Kyrie won't have a leg to stand on.

Patiently waiting for @swyyyguy to open another idiotic thread but this time called...

“Would LeBron winning MVP over Harden be a travesty?”

    ... don’t worry I’m sure it’s coming soon.

By the way, this is absolutely the direction the narrative will go once kyrie settles. “LeBron is the best player, blah blah blah”

Why would you say that? Are you insinuating that you are aware of LeBron leading the Cavs on an 8-game winning streak, skyrocketing up the Eastern Conference standings, and suggesting he is worthy of MVP consideration???

Why don't you just make the thread if you believe that then?

The problem is we know at some point, LeBron and the Cavs are gonna let their foot off of the gas and coast. They're not gonna go all out and try to keep pace with the Celtics or even the Pistons. So the real question is should LeBron win the award over Harden if he puts up MVP-type numbers but his team barely clears 50 wins vs the Rockets flirting with 60 wins(in a tougher conference, I might add) and James having an equally impressive statistical season?

That's why we have to let these things play out. But the problem is the people who vote for this award seem to have no consistency when it comes to their criteria for who should get MVP.

It's a long, long season. Harden is unquestionably the MVP of the first month and a half. But MVPs aren't won at the beginning of the regular season. If he's putting up these numbers at the tail end of the regular season, it will serve him better for MVP consideration.

Just another b-ball reference mvp tracker update

James miles ahead of the pack at 78.3%

    LeBron next at 10.4%

    Kyrie 5th at 1.4%

And CC still hanging on to that 10th spot.

    Still would be a travesty.

Yeah they do, they are completely consistent, but their consistency is not Harden

Who cares at this point. Season way too young. But I have a feeling Harden will get it this year

I'm numb to Harden losing MVP at this point. PTSD, man.
