Would it take any of the savor out of winning more titles if the Rockets went all SuperFriends?

?

Would you enjoy a Rockets title less if they had to sign on 3 superstars to do it?

If it was truly random, then no, I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much. But in the OP's scenario, it would not be random. They would join a team with a 23-yr old star/superstar. Just as Miami had Wade as the core piece to set things up, the Rockets would also have that core piece and the capspace to get them(Lin and Asik's salaries were both very moveable).

But in the end, it will still matter to me as much as winning a $10mil lottery vs. winning a $12mil lottery. No, it won't be as sweet. But the difference is so minute compared to our 1 playoff victory the past 17(?) years or so.

There is a difference between Superfriends team and assembled mercenary teams

Superfriends teams like the Heat are once in a decade teams that have friends who happens to be stars or superstars

The more likely outcome are like the Lakers last year or Lakers with Payton, Malone, Shaq and KB- paid mercenaries

The Rockets are trying to form friends out of those mercenaries
No. It will be even more gratifying to watch friends accomplish winning than a bunch of randomly acquired dudes
