Would it have been better to lose to the Blazers to keep Yao healthy?

Correct. Injuries can happen anytime and anywhere so wasting opportunities is downright wrong.

well if yao suffers that same injury which he probably would have, halfway through the 2009-2010 season and gets sidelines until after the all start break of 2012, then would it have been better to beat portland and have him be back by 2010-2011?

It woulda been better if JVG wasn't so stubborn and let us lose those last couple of games and we woulda draft Brandon Roy. That woulda be much better.

I'm not a big Artest fan, so that's a plus for me.

    Houston Rockets > Yao

Soooo...no. Although it hurts insanely to be missing one of our key stars, I enjoyed the 2nd round. It was about time we made it.

Yao would have sustained an injury anyways...who knows how, playing in China or something.

Dude is an annual injury machine. And I HATE it.

Fair enough - and you're in the extreme majority - but no matter how you feel Yao's not going anywhere unless he wants to. Reality intercedes.

There's too many posts kvetching about Yao from people here. You should hate Les and pray Yao thinks Houston is bad juju and just wants out. Good luck with that for the next three years.

come on whats wrong with you... Yao has a chronic foot problem. He would have probably injured his foot anyway in the offseason. Haven't you notice the pattern yet. McGrady is out for the season Yao is somehow someway healthy for the entire season. Yao is out for the season. McGrady is somehow someway healthy for the season. Its like Oil and Vinegar. 2 dont work well 2gether.

BTW bro Yao hurt himself in the 2nd round against the Lakers.

It was definitely better to win even if the extra wear and tear from the second round series is what broke Yao's foot. And I say that even if the foot would have never broken for the rest of his career had he not played in the LA series. Getting out of the second round was HUGE for the Rockets organization, players and fans.

For the people saying this is a stupid or useless question. Don't open it and read (or vote) if you don't like the topic. What the hell do people expect during the middle of a long summer when all we can do as fans is reflect on last season or speculate on the upcoming one?
