Garnett's on fire tonight against Miami, looks like he's got some left in the tank. (22 and 8, middle 4th qtr)

Garnett is the more reasonable target for the Rockets. Especially with McHale as the coach.

Garnett still has name recognition to draw talent to him, plus his intangibles are off the charts. At the very least, he will toughen up Motiejunas in practice.

Garnett's personality not withstanding, its difficult not to admire how effective he remains as a player in his 16th season. There's no question that his skills have tapered off quite a bit from what he once was (arguably the best player in the NBA for a few seasons), but he's still very efficient on the offensive end, one of the best defenders in the league, and an incredible motivator. If nothing else, his impact on team intensity is palpable.

That said, I doubt he leaves the Celtics unless they consciously make a decision not to bring him back. I see him as a career Celtic until he retires, and it's easy to forget how loyal he was to the Timberwolves despite being regularly surrounded by subpar supporting casts. Jumping ship doesnt seem to be his MO, and it's unlikely that he's open to going anywhere else, let alone the Rockets....

    I thought we had a "No-Knucklehead" policy?

    Garnett is a punk.

So was Ron Artest, and he got us out of the 2nd round in a LONG TIME.

Nobody here agreed to a no knuckle-head policy. If you wanna see some real knuckle heads, go watch the NHL ...those guys fight all the time

Just say what you really wanna say.. and be done with it. You dont want KG on the Rockets because he's black

If they're intangible... how can there be a chart for them?

    :p

But back to the point, I think he's still a nice player, but I wouldn't count on him drawing much more talent around him to be honest... And it looks like if we signed him we'd have our roster set with no more cap room or flexibility or any of those things Morey loves. And I don't think that's gonna do much to make us a contender.

    I would want Garnet IF:

    1) We unload Scola or Pat in the off season
    2) He would play for cheap and on a short contract (unlikely)
    3) He actually stated enthusiastically he wanted to play in Houston

    Really?

great idea like 5 yrs ago. He is done a main player that would deserve a 10 million dollar contract. We can just get Kevin Willis out of retirement for $7.50 an hr. Or maybe make a play for Shawn Kemp....he only has a couple dozen kids to support and will play for $5.00 an hr.

So... is it safe to conclude that "LOLatSoccer" is a troll/alt account yet?

A position mismatch. We need a young talented center and another SG assuming we trade Martin at the trade deadline next year. Oh ... we need to sign a certain PG who is a UFA.

At this point in his career, let KG go get his discounted deal with a contender.

We don't have any room at the inn......

As Jack said in Anger Management....."Hey, we're working here!"
