We have who our coach wants. Case ,like Colt. will have nice backup careers. If you can't be a starter, the next best gig in the world is Back up qb. You still get paid, you still get the chicks and non of the pressure.

Even if not, he'd have been more fun to watch while failing.

When your team chooses to start arguably the 6th best QB in the AFC South, you get threads like this....and deservedly so.

Case wasn't better than Fitzpatrick or Mallet last year. He preformed admirably down the stretch in getting his first 2 wins of his career, but overall he's 2-8. He's statistically similar in stats, but he can't read a defense to save his life. He doesn't understand what protections he's responsible for, and he takes way too many hits. He's also not good at checking down or progressing through his reads. NFL defenses are too fast for him. He's fighting for the backup job with the Rams and he's not a lock to make the roster.

I understand some of the love from UH Alumni, but my god he isn't anything but a guy that will fight for backup jobs in his career. His ceiling is Fitz/Hoyer and his floor is far below theirs.

If anything, Savage is our best long term bet, but he's still taking too long on his reads and is taking far too many hits. I expect him to compete for QB1 next season. Probably with a 1st/2nd round pick.

Should of gone with the 7th best. Would have made such a huge difference

Think Savage is the 7th best?

Anyway, I'd take (in no order) Luck, Mallett, Bortles, Mettenberger, and Mariota over Hoyer....Savage might be 7th best after Hoyer, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

    To do what exactly?

Sure, in no order, I'd take Luck, Mallett, Mariota, Mettenberger, and Bortles over Hoyer.

    Mallet
    Luck
    Mariotta
    Bottles
    Mettenberger
    Hoyer

And of course Fitz was tops on that list last year

Fitz wasn't on top of any list, but if he was in the AFC South still, he'd be ahead of Hoyer as well as those other 5.
