Just think about how Heats won NBA championship last year....

Almost everyone laughed at them after the trade....

Walker,Williams...both were known as awful players. Now we think Bonzi is awful.

I think it's depends on the coach. What would happen if JVG instead of Pat Riley last year?

    Benched them...

I agree that when our starters aren't making shots, you'd need to go to the bench to bring in some new energy. Utah had more depth going into the series. It was even worse for the Rockets when the coach doesn't trust his reserves and his starters weren't scoring outside of Yao and TMac.

Which Bonzi? Last year's Bonzi who was relentless and hammered the boards? Or this year's Bonzi who was out of shape, couldn't defend his shadow, and couldn't hold onto the ball? Last year's Bonzi would have helped immensely. This year's Bonzi actually might have put the Rockets over the top if played very sparingly.

JVG was stubborned all season and with Jon Barry's comment of what JVG had said about not likeing the moves made over this past Summer only now proves to me why JVG did not play Kirk, VSpan, and maybe Bonzi. I am glad JVG maybe on the way out. Next season you can be sure the Rockets will have a better bench. I sure hope Mario Elie is given a chance to be the coach.

The Jazz played a slow physical series....Bonzi would have been well suited for that type of series......

But, JVG would never have played him.

It all comes down to whether you think he should have been allowed to play his way into shape or not played until he was already in shape.

Personally, I think had he been allowed to play his way back into shape, he would have eventually been able to help us. A lot.

    agree

nene and diaw were terribly out of shape at the beginning of the season

but their coaches allowed them to play into shape because they understood that they were needed to win

stephen jackson is a thug and baron davis didn't get along with byron scott
but their coach was patient with them because he understood that they were needed to win

any coach should try to maximize everyone in his roster. if he's not, trade or release them then get someone from FA or DL

Hopefully JVG is gone... and Bonzi does not exercise his 2nd year option.

Who else can we get that could help us out without using the MLE?

It's Bonzi's own fault. He didn't get into shape when we needed him at the beginning, and then a few freak accidents sealed the deal.

I only know what I saw with my own eyes, and that was Coach JVG lost the first round playoff. Also I didn't see Bonzi get any meaningful PT in the first 40+ regular season games.
