The guy is alos able to lose more than a couple games with his no defense, no rebounding, ballhogging, minutes-b****ing attitude as well. He couldn't handle himself as a 10th man, how would he do as a 12/13th man? Rockets have more than enough scoring only guards on this team now, AB/Martin/Ariza/Battier/Lowry/Cbud are all better than Wafer, there is no need to have another one with the same attribute to take up a spot but never see floor. Taylor at least provides a different dimension in potential SG defense, Wafer provides nothing we don't have already. Yao/Scola/DA/Hayes/JJ/Hill/Ariza/Battier/Matin/AB/Lowry/Cbud/JT/1st round pick will all have guaranteed contract, if Morey signs a MLE as he said in his interveiw, 15 spots are already there. Unless some big trades happening, I don't see why and how Wafer can have a place on this team.
Why do we still talk about this guy? He could not make it over seas, he had a good year when he was here. But he cant pass, dribble or play defense. What ? Its not like he is some franchise player where all our money goes and we are forced to play him big minutes. He is just depth off the bench, a wild card, if things aren't working out normally. If his defense is hurting us, he can be sat. Sometimes you NEED a ball hog. I disagree, we have one scoring only guard (Marting) and he is injury prone. Wafer brings something completely different than all of those guys you listed. Its not even comparable really. I can pretty much guarantee you the roster will look drastically different next year and there will be plenty of roster spots. Signing Wafer for minimum is a low cost high reward move.
