That's a fair point, especially with his name change. And don't mistake me: I liked the original skits on SNL. It just seemed kind of painful for a superbowl ad. If you're not in on the skit, it would just look like the worst, and strangest ad you had ever seen. But now that I think about it, that makes it funnier still. Has anyone mentioned the one (Monster?) that kept repeating the signs that you should look for a new job? Just over and over, like a musicless twelve days of christmas... Ugh. Just not that funny. And in this economy, who gets to sit around whining about having a job?
Ok. The bar has been set This is a new Low. . . . what will be the next thing to go lower? Rocket River
I remember seeing that commercial, but it didnt even register to me what it was advertising. I wasnt paying much attention I guess.
the macgruber commercial was definitely bottom 5. an SNL skit with a pepsi plug? lame. (and a dumb plug at that.. Pepsuber??) Not only was it uncreative but they took all the good jokes out of the skit too!
There was a thread about this in the hangout a few months back when 610 had been running the radio ads for ashleymadison.com, and there was certainly some outrage at that. The ad is deplorable in my estimation, encouraging people to cheat is a disgusting way to make money. on a lighter note... MacGruber is painfully unfunny. It made me want to punch my TV... and I love my TV very much.
