I'd rather have a root canal then have to sit through a paula poundstone act. Dice clay is horrible too.
My mom called me from Chicago last year and said, "Would you think it was cool if I walked out of McCormick & Schmicks and bumped into Sinbad?" "Absolutely not."
Sinbad!! Are you kidding! Of the 3 specials I've seen, he's brought the house down every single time. I mean it is practically non-stop when he's on stage. I know everyone in my family finds him hilarious. Maybe you were watching someone else.
I guess we wouldn't get along if we ever met. First NC State beats UH. Then you don't like Robin Williams act, then you don't like Dennis Miller.
WHAT? he was one of the funnier guys to watch when I was growing up. His whole cat and dog thing was hilarious. I still laugh to myself when I think about it. Although I will admit his drug thing really gets old fast, and he should probably lose that. but he is really funny Oh and Sinbad is funny. I loved his HBO specials. talking about growing up poor. It was good stuff. Gallagher is awful
Also, I just never found trash talking female comedians funny. Why females 'trash-talking', in particular? There aren't that many I can think of, anyway. Roseanne?
sucks: margaret cho i watched her special one time and didnt even chuckle...i try to like her cuz shes asian..but dam she sucks...all she does is talk bout her fat self... as for sinbad...i think he's freakin hilariious...especially when he does his impersonations of white guys...off da hook! and as for thinking that chris rock sucks? u gotta be crazy...this guy is one of da best ever...he a genius
Ellen Degeneres wannabes. Saw one last night on comedy central with a show stopping punchline of "lesbians look just like normal people". Clones usually suck balls.
Man, treeman and I have trouble agreeing. I think that Chris Rock is a hilarious stand-up comedian... but a horrendous actor. He just hurls one liners at the other actors like they're rocks.
Kathy Griffin, Janeanne Garofolo and the aforementioned Silverman from Mr. Show are great comedians. Catherine O'Hara and Andrea Martin were also brilliant on SCTV. A female comedian that needs to stop: Joan Rivers. Die, hag, die!
Isn't Kathy Griffin the one from Suddenly Susan? I can't stand her, and if I ever met her, I'd punch her in her big ugly nose.
This woman has no reason to be on a stage on any planet in any year. Hers has to be the most brutal act I've ever heard in my life. The audience was stupified most of the show... they couldn't react because the jokes were going nowhere and they weren't sure when to respond.
I was going to mention her earlier, I have to say I've soured on her quite a bit. Not as much as the Dr., but let's just say JG's schtick hasn't aged well.
Reminds me of Norm MacDonald's line about Roseanne, for whose show he wrote for... "Roseanne's the funniest woman out there. Or, as I like to say: the only funny woman, ever."
I just realized I double-posted, and came off as incredibly misogynistic. Ah well... I'm not saying I agree with Norm, but I'm not changing re: JG. She is soooo 1995.
Me, I did standup comedy for 2 years and I sucked.....terrible...though I did get a couple of my lines stolen and Robin Williams was one of them who borrowed my work. I mean listen to this..... "My wife has an hourglass figure....... unfortunatly it is like the 59th minute and all the sand has settled in the bottom." She hates that joke.... I have a ton of old material in a notebook things like... "What is the definition of a real man? He subscribes to playboy and admits he is illiterate" Oh, and the joke that Williams stole from me was a joke about how selfish men where the ribs of condoms on the inside... Man, I miss the days of Austin comedy....(sigh) DaDakota
