Not even bothering with the low budgets or follow ups to already bad movies. For example, Caddyshack 2 had a total cast turnover - who went to the theater expecting anything on the same level?

Just tackling sequels that were highly anticipated and subsequently sucked in the worst way.

Matrix 2 has to be right up there with most heinous reception (though I personally liked a lot of it)

Pretty much any odd numbered Star Trek film

I think Transformers 2 counts. I was iffy on the first, hoping for something better with the second. Huge box office opening, but I finally saw it this week and it was horrid.

    Indy 4. Flippin Tarzan scene.

    The Star Wars prequels.

Rocky 5 and Superman 4.....though most people didn't have huge hopes going into them.

I'd say Batman & Robin...but Batman Forever tipped most people off that the franchise was going campy/south.

    Godfather 3.

    Alien 3.

Ghostbusters 2 and Waynes World 2

Speed 2 Cruise Control - I don't know if this really counts, but I remember making fun of it the second I heard the subtitle. All you needed to know right there.

Revenge of the Nerds II, but watching Courtney Throune-Smith and Bradley Whitford hone their craft are the gold and silver lining. "Take meeee, take-me-back-to par-a-dise, par-a-di-is-e (ooh-ooh) Takemebackto par-a-dise!!"

    That second Matrix film....

I got the whole concept of the Matrix films, some people didn't I did. But I'm sitting there watching that second movie thinking "What are these idiots gibbering about!". :D

    Worst sequal: Miss Congeniality 2
Never saw the first one and was forced to sit through this crap. I can't begin to explain how bad it is.

It was my worst movie of all time until I saw Mr and Mrs Smith (For which I want a personal apology from Brad Pitt for wasting two hours of my life watching that s**t) and Wanted which is now my single worst, most dire, horrible movie I have ever seen.

Neverending Story 2...I was so hyped to see this when it came out and even as a kid I said what crap is this?

Superman 4...with tons of villians to choose from they go for the sundude??? Atleast Superman 3 had mainstream stuff going with and kinda sorta reachingggg for a chick Metallo.

Batman 3 and 4....even worse now that you see Begins and Knight. Nipples really really...

    Finally...

good freaking call. I'm not sure if it is the worst sequel ever but I bet it has the biggest difference between quality of original to the quality of the sequel

I read the book about 10 years ago and honestly the 2nd half of the book, of which the 2nd movie is based off, is really made for teenagers/young adults so I can see why they struggled with making the movie. It was not meant to be a kids book/movie and they tried so hard for it to be that they turned it into sat morning cartoons. The first half of the book was catered much more toward kids and thus it worked but they could have still saved the 2nd movie if they just focused in on the kids that loved the first movie and grew up but they instead went for the all mighty dollar.

I can hardly even remember the plot but it did not even have the awesome music right? The first movie was freaking epic. Plot twist, old school book store.

Well it had a VERY short part of the original song at the end and then it stops and goes into some crap ballet. Another thing that killed it is that almost EVREY actor was replaced or chose not to return(for obvious reasons).

But it wasn't just a 'fistfight'. Danny Glover was using that super sharp weapon he got off the predator as a brass knuckle-kinda-thing...that, AND the Predator was already wounded with multiple abdominal injuries while also missing a hand...

Fighting a wounded Predator while using his own technology against him...yeah I'd say Murtaugh could do it :D

    Bloodsport 2: The Next Kumite

Low expectations, and still totally disappointing sequel to one of the Ultimate Guy movies ever.

Halloween 5: Revenge of Michael Myers, Curse of Michael Myers, Resurrection

2-4, aren't the greatest movies in the world, but on their own merit, pretty decent flicks.

    After that...terrible.

Every Friday the 13th movie after Part 6

Superman IV: the Quest for Peace and Superman Returns

    Saw IV

The Karate Kid Part III, the Next Karate Kid, and Kung Fu Kid

Notice one has come out yet.

Dumb and Dumberer... the original was a classic, and one of my all-time favorites.

American Psycho 2 - Mila Kunis as a Criminology Major at a college, who starts killing off rival students so she can get a scholarship to Quantico. Kinda like if they made Gandhi 2 about a half-Norweigan prison guard.

Cruel Intentions 2 - Probably not that bad considering the presumably low expectations. Hits all the same evil WASP plot points: rich kids, nice school, blackmail, murder. And a half-decent scene with Keri Lynn Pratt climaxing during a horse riding lesson.

For sure!!! I still don't know who's the guy with the brite idea of making a sequel of a classic horrow flick but TOTALLY REVAMPING THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF THE MOVIE.

Even worse, the movie by itself was HORRIBLE LOL
