xiki, So Bryce Drew was what kept us from winning it all in '97? Now that is hilarious. Never even dreamed that I'd hear that. Did you ever notice that the guy couldn't dribble the ball up court without looking like a deer caught in headlights?
I'm with Sam Fisher...Let's try worst lineup to actually start a game. Kenny Thomas Terrence Morris Oscar Torres Moochie Norris Jason Collier Yes, that lineup actually STARTED on April 14, 2002 against the Grizzlies. Or maybe this one from two nights later when we got anally molested by Denver: Oscar Torres Moochie Norris Dan Langhi Kenny Thomas Kelvin Cato
Bryce Drew was in College in 97. His first year with the Rockets was the strike shortened year in 98. And when did he ever blow out his knee? I think you have him confused with someone else.
You do realize that this team went an incredible 14-68? I went to two games that year and saw them get blown out by the Clippers and Bullets. I was young, but even then it was painful!
How about the worst lineup with players we drafted, but never played for us: C- Zwikker PF - Venson Hamilton SF - Eric Meek SG - Kyle Hill PG - Andre LaFleur
What was I thinking...of course I was thinking Brent price. They are both white, easily cofused with each other. One had game (for a while) and a brother who had great game. The other had a great college game (once?) and a father who coached a good game. See, easy mistake.
Robert Reid..... was a noted Rockets player. Allen Leavel.... was a noted Rockets player. Terry Teagle.... was a noted player on another team after he was traded, early in his Rockets career,
I'm aware of that, as I noted earlier, that was the worst regular starting lineup ever. As I said before: 14-68.
I'm also a big fan of Morlon Wiley. He was part of the Scottie Brooks deal, but never ended up playing here.
With Allen Leavell leading the team @ 14 points per game, we were lucky to win 14. I know there were "tank" rumors, but I really think that team wasn't capable of winning more than 14. j
I don't care if they were 0 and 82 Robert Reid is in no way a spare. It is not even a point you can argue. You know why Robert Reid took the number 33 when Ralph Sampson took his number 50? Because Bill Fitch thought that Reid did such an exellent job playing against Larry Bird in the 1980 Finals so he suggested that Reid take number 33. You do know that Reid is the one the one that played point most of the year after Allen Levell broke his wrist and John Lucas got booted from the team don't you? As I recall we did pretty damn good that year. You do know that our 14 - 68 record was partly do to the massive throwing of games that was done in order to land Ralph Sampson don't you. Robert Reid was not a spare. He was an outstanding basketball player.
Gotcha. I remember Price blowing out his knee. To bad he never acheived the same level of greatness that his brother Mark acheived. One Brent one Bryce both white easy mistake.
My god, I can't believe you people are getting so upset about this! Go back and read my first post, or the 2 or 3 that followed! Where do I say that Robert Reid was the worst or 2nd worst Forward in Rockets history? Where do I try to make that point? All I was saying was that was the worst Rockets starting lineup THAT ACTUALLY PLAYED TOGETHER ON A REGULAR BASIS!!!!!! IT was just an observation, based on statistics and personal recollection and nothing more. Please read the posts and save us both the trouble next time.
