Must we always disagree on everything? In my theater no one was laughing. The only scenes that I thought were somewhat amusing were the John Lovitz scenes. Everyone else, Cuba, Whoopi, Inside Shwartz guy, Seth Green, Lovitz's family, Green's brother, Mr Bean , were either extremely annoying or just not funny. Comedy is the most subjective kind of movie, its either hit or miss. And with me and most people I know ... it's a miss.
Kiss of the Dragon The One Jurrasic Park 3 All of the sequels that came out in 2001 ROCKED in my opinion. American Pie 2 and Rush Hour 2 had to be the best sequels I have ever seen. Freddy Got Fingered was alright but I am one of the few that thinks Tom Green is funny. Tomcats just sucked cuz no nudity .
I think Tom Green is funny, that's why i went to see "freddy got fingered" but in all honesty, this movie was garbage. I am a HUGE Jurassic park fan and even thought that the second was pretty damn good. but JP3 is a REALLY bad movie. But obviously the first two were directed by Speilbergh and this one was by some other guy. The script was pretty terrible too for this movie. Kiss of the Dragon: I thought it was a good movie but if you rent it on videos.
Fast and the Furious wasn't that bad, I just liked it better the first time when it was called Point Break.
http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Movies/02/11/aa.razzie.awards/index.html <I>(CNN) -- Tom Green and his film "Freddy Got Fingered" are finally getting some recognition -- but probably not the kind they were looking for. The movie, which earned scathing reviews and bombed at the box office after its release last April, was nominated for eight Razzie awards, including worst picture of the year. And Green picked up nominations for worst actor, director, screenplay and worst screen couple, the latter for "Tom Green and any animal he abuses." Contenders for the 22nd annual Razzies, organized by the 500 members of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, were announced Monday, a day before Oscar nominations come out. Razzie "winners" will be announced March 23, the eve of the Academy Awards ceremony. The other nominees for worst picture category were Sylvester Stallone's racing flick "Driven," Mariah Carey's pop-star bomb "Glitter," the war epic "Pearl Harbor" and Kevin Costner's Elvis-impersonator heist thriller "3000 Miles to Graceland." Green and Stallone tied for most individual nominations with a record-tying four each. Stallone is a longtime Razzie favorite, having earned 29 nominations in the award's 22 years -- and nine awards, including worst actor of the century in 2000. 'No redeeming value' Razzies founder John Wilson said he expects "Freddy Got Fingered" to be the front-runner for worst picture. "The movie has no redeeming value," Wilson said. "If his point was to be offensive and stupid and obnoxious, then my gosh, he made a masterpiece. But then, it still is offensive and stupid and obnoxious." Paul Clinton, in his CNN.com review, referred to the movie as "quite simply the worst movie ever released by a major studio in Hollywood history." "People will roll in the aisle, right out the door ... and to the nearest bathroom," Clinton wrote. The movie grossed about $14.2 million at the U.S. box office, less than its $15 million budget. 'Honoring' Carey's cleavage Stallone was nominated for worst supporting actor, screenplay and screen couple (with co-star Burt Reynolds) and shares the worst-picture nomination as a producer of "Driven." Up against Green for worst actor are Ben Affleck, "Pearl Harbor"; Costner, "3000 Miles to Graceland"; Keanu Reeves for both "Hardball" and "Sweet November"; and John Travolta for "Domestic Disturbance" and "Swordfish." Travolta received worst-actor dishonors last year for "Battlefield Earth" and "Lucky Numbers." Carey is the clear favorite for worst actress, named on 93.3 percent of the nominating ballots, Wilson said. The singer's cleavage also was nominated for worst screen couple. Other worst-actress nominees are Penelope Cruz ("Blow," "Captain Corelli's Mandolin," "Vanilla Sky"), Angelina Jolie ("Lara Croft: Tomb Raider," "Original Sin"), Jennifer Lopez ("Angel Eyes," "The Wedding Planner") and Charlize Theron ("Sweet November"). For Jolie, it's quite a fall. The actress won a 1999 best supporting actress Oscar for "Girl, Interrupted." Worst couple nominees, besides Green and the animals, Stallone and Reynolds, and Carey's cleavage, are Affleck and either Josh Hartnett or Kate Beckinsale ("Pearl Harbor") and Kurt Russell and either Kevin Costner or Courtney Cox ("3000 Miles to Graceland"). Besides Green, worst-director nominees are Michael Bay for "Pearl Harbor," Peter Chelsom (with Warren Beatty) for "Town & Country," Vondie Curtis Hall for "Glitter" and Renny Harlin for "Driven." Last year's worst picture was "Battlefield Earth." </I>
JP3 was the worst I saw. (we don't go to theaters that much, and when we do it's usually for something worthwhile)
Jolie for a razzie???? How is Lara Croft suppose to be played?? The movie blew. Just because she was pertraying an action heroine like an action heroine, she did a bad job. Whatever.
Rat Race was an ok movie that had a really ****ty director. You had a bunch of great comedic actors and not any of them really got to show their true talents. It got a C from me but still had its funny parts such as the John Lovitz parts. Is it just me or are the quality of movies deteriorating quite rapidly. How the **** does Pootie-Tang, Freddy Got Fingered, Ghost of Mars, 3000 Miles to Graceland, and Pearl Harbor get produced? I mean I can see how Pearl Harbor got produced being a Disney movie but man didn't anyone read the damn script?! That should have put a stop to the filming right there. As far as the other four movies how they got into theaters is beyond me. At some point someone at the studio had to actually see some of the filming in person....... ahhh
for 2002: ballistic: ecks vs. sever You remember that scene in Ed Wood where the movie producer laughs at Ed's movie because he thinks it's a practical joke? That's the same thing I was thinking while watching this.
Insomnia - it sucked hard. I need to watch it again, I could only bare the first half and then I had to turn it off.
Hey, whats the big idea, this thread is clearly titled "Worst movie you saw in 2001" not 2002. Lets try to keep it on topic please.
