no... not really. it depends. if you're 7'5" or under, then yes. if you're 7'7" or taller, then no. of course i'm not taller than yao, that's my reason for using "towering and 7'6"... to further show that the mf'er is tall... just in case any of you are 7'7". :D

it's called pleonasm (i think), drexlerfan22. opposite of an oxymoron. it's done a lot in literature, though i hardly qualify as a writer (i'm awful... can't you tell?).

is that what you do here? pick over people's posts 24 hours a day? oops... i did it again. "24 hours a day". you know what?... i think you should write a letter to whomever came up with that phrase and call him/her redundant. (just f'ing with ya ;) )

mrs. saenz, is that you? :D  :D

The Department of Random Quips needs another volunteer... game? ;)

I don't know... if you wanna get down to a definition by relative height, don't you need more than an inch on a guy to tower? I'd say it's gotta be at least 5 inches. Here's my rough idea of a key:

1 inch taller: "A bit taller."
    2 inches taller: "Taller."
3 inches taller: "Quite a bit taller."
    4 inches taller: "Significantly taller."
5 & up inches taller: "TOWERING!."

Don't get all literate on me. Redundancy is pretty much the layman's term for pleonasm anyway. :p

And yeah, those shoes are crap.

What do you think about Garnett's headS? I think KG can afford a separation surgery. But which one of his two heads is going to get the body that's worth millions?

Worst moment of the year, when Steve threw the ball away in Cleveland, that's when I really started to doubt they would make the playoffs.

Everyone should know Yao was/is a *huge* Oiler fan, in fact he bought season tickets for Bum Phillips, Earl Cambell, Mike Renfro, and Dan Pastorini. That is why he has the baby blue shoes-- homage to the Oilers plain and simple.

Worst moment for the Rox: when they were officially out of the playoffs

But since so many of you care more about Yao...

Worst moment for Yao: when he lost the ROY (god that still makes me choke)

I was at that game, front row center. It wasn't Steve's fault at all. Milt Palacio was holding Yao's jersey the whole time so he couldn't get the ball and the ref didn't call it. Palacio used that to jump in front of Yao and snatch it away.

Everyone around me was like "whew, glad the ref didn't call that one"
