Yeesh. Just thinking about that nauseates me. My worst was a broken ankle about 6 years ago from playing soccer. I was making a cut on a wet field and the ground gave way. As that was happening, an opposing player swiped at me and caught my shin, forcing my ankle to turn a direction it really shouldn't have. What could have been a simple sprain turned into a 6 month rehab thanks to Captain Jackass and his bullet (balding mullet).
I had a ruptured disc in my back that came completely out of my spine and a nerve wrapped around it. I had surgery to remove it and the doctor said the nerve pulled so tight it would have snapped and paralyzed me if I didn't have it removed. I currently have 5 more ruptured discs in my upper back that I can't really do anything about. Degenerative Disc disease is no fun.
Imagine dragging a tiny pebble across your internal organs. Imagine how excruciating that feels. Thats what having kidney stones is. I've been "fortunate" enough to have this happen twice. I've spoken to women who have given birth and had kidney stones. They say giving birth was MUCH easier. Lets just say I know what the term "Agony" means now...
Compound fracture in right ankle playing basketball in high school, also dislocated left knee cap playing ball as well. Have broke both arms and cracked ribs.
Dislocated right ankle twice playing basketball - once when I was 17 and then again when I was about 33. Jumped and landed on someone elses foot. I've got photos taken at the hospital with the ankle stuck out of joint before they put it back in.

hoodrat friend threw a pretty big rock in the air while I was on a moving skateboard. it landed inches from my temple and I was hospitalized with a concussion. so much blood.
Went to the dentist for a toothache, but ended up leaving with no teeth. Going to a dentist that was my ex girlfriend was probably not my smartest idea.
When I was 8, I had Appendicitis. My mom thought I had the flu because I kept throwing up, but I told her my stomach hurt really bad. After a few days at home, my appendix completely ruptured. It got to the point where I wasn't able to walk anymore, and my dad had to carry me to bed. One night it became too much and I started screaming for help, went to the hospital, had surgery. The doctors said the poison from the appendix had spread all over the body which is why I couldn't walk. It sucked spending my 9th birthday in the hospital . Also, I sprained my right ankle really bad twice in one night back in March 2007. Since then, I've rolled it about 6 or 7 more times, and it never healed properly. I haven't rolled it in months, but I still can't get full motion out of it without extreme pain. About 2 weeks ago, for the 1st time in my life, I sprained my left ankle. Now I have 2 ankles that hurt when I walk. Glorious. And the most interesting for last. When I was in the 9th grade, I was getting tested, and a nurse stuck a rubber looking q tip up my penis. She told me to take a deep breath (I thought she was gonna swab the tip or something), so I took a deep breath, and she just jammed it in there. It went a few inches, she then turned it like a 360, told me to take another deep breath, then yanked it out. After that experience, I quit trying to mess with virgins, cause if that pain was anything like what a girl goes through her first time, I count my blessings that I am a man.
Bike wreck on a trail - came around a tight corner fast and hit a broken tree branch. The branch was still attached to the tree so it was anchored and the end was really sharp. I hit it with my left calf and the impact literally stopped me and lifted me up until the end of the branch broke. I had toe clips on so I was locked on the bike and that provided extra force to drive the branch in my leg. I looked down and end of the branch is sticking out of my calf with a good inch and half of it in my leg. It went all the way through my skin and into my muscle -- it caused the calf muscle to charlie horse into a fist sized ball. After some recovery time I had to turn around and ride about 6 miles back to the start of the trail. Not a fun ride. I kept the end of the stick as a souvenir.
lots of broken bones most recent ones: a.) broken femur. I was elevated when my femur was hit & the fall/landing exacerbated the break (the bone bulged out of my thigh...had to be in traction for a while - thank you American Hospital of Paris) b.) motorcycle accident that broke most ribs on my left side, shattered pelvis (just the tip on my left side), broken shoulder, broken collarbone, lacerated internal organs.....i was back on a moto 6 months later
My right ankle broke in three places while playing high school football. Some lineman fell right on top of it at the right place to cause all that. I didn't know it was broken until I tried to get up. I got tackled well, too. How did THAT happen, madam? You usually only hear ONE knee's ACL tearing...
Man, some of you guys have had some major crap happen to you over the years. I've been pretty lucky so far (knock on wood). -I fractured my wrist while riding a bike when I was in the 5th grade. -Separated my shoulder while being gang raped in college. -Broke my toe while searching for a flashlight during a power outage about 10 years ago. All in all, not too bad compared to a lot of you, so I guess I can't complain.
Same here, missing half of my right index finger down to the first joint. Mine got bitten off by my pet rabbit when I was 2 years old. As a result of that, had a ton of stitches and two skin grafts that left pretty nasty scars.
Yikes, some of you seriously have been through some stuff. I still remember reading the story (not in this thread obviously) of a guy literally getting shot in the face while he was driving. I've partially torn my meniscus playing soccer, and that still stiffens up on me from time to time 5 years later. I've fractured my finger playing football. I've been mauled by a cat, and had my face scratched up on both sides. I've severely sprained each ankle once, I've sprained my wrist pretty badly, and I've fractured my collarbone all playing basketball. I would say the worst was 6 years ago though. I was driving on Loop 1604 in San Antonio when a suburban changed lanes into my lane without checking her rearview mirror. I swerved to miss her, got clipped by a car who was speeding in the right lane (over 90 MPH), and started spinning. My tired caught traction when I was completely facing the concrete median, and I slammed into it going over 50 MPH. That would have been somewhat ok (the charge from the airbag severely burned and lacerated my forearms, and my eyes looked like Finalsbound's), but when I looked out of my driver's side window, all I saw were two headlights of a Chevy Tahoe. I heard a bunch of shattered glass, and this crunching sound before I passed out. Luckily I came out of it with just a bad case of whiplash, some nasty scars, and a new outlook on life.
