Believe it or not, Ellison was better than Smith -- Joe only had two decent years (his first two), and Ellison's 3rd and 4th years were better. Besides, as least Pervis can blame injuries. ------------------ "I personally wouldn't give up my college years for anything. It was the funnest time I have ever had. Didn't Scott Layden come to the Knicks just last offseason? If it was only a year ago, how many of those salaries can he be blamed for? Allan Houston's and Weatherspoon's. Anyone else? Besides, what's so bad about having a bloated payroll? They can still acquire talent when they're over the cap. Besides, even when they were the worst they'd been in years, they were still in the playoffs. ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
Clarence Weatherspoon for 5 years and $27M -- before Hakeem had signed! -- should be worth some kind of award all by itself, though. ------------------ "I personally wouldn't give up my college years for anything.
