Haha, I remember my parents getting this from either my grandmother in Georgia or my aunt and uncle from Georgia. I do believe it was opened but nothing was ever eaten from it.

The worst gift I ever got was a pair of gloves that were really for a 30 year old and up person instead of a 10 year old kid. Here I was hoping and praying to get something like another GI Joe action figure or a He-Man action figure or matchbox car or something and I get these damn, thick bulky gloves. I couldn't even wear them to play football in (which was the excuse given to me by my grandmother of why she got them for me). I think my reaction to the gift was so bad that she completely forgot, *hint hint* on purpose, to get me something a couple of Christmases later (but my mother gave her an earful and she eventually got me something but it was cheesy like note cards or a calendar). She, for whatever reason, never ever considered buying me toys always impractical things or stuff that would be considered useful now to a 31 year old man but not to an 8 to 14 year old kid.

And I know that this post makes me sound bitter towards her, but it helps me realize why my relationship with her wasn't all that great back then. Thank God I got a chance to change that before she passed recently.

I like the popcorn cans. Especially the variety ones.

I'm going with the popcorn as the crappiest. Fruit cakes that people actually send can be pretty bad. But, a well made fruitcake, drenched in liquor, is culinarily superior to anything made of popcorn. I've been telling my wife she needs to make a fruitcake.

But how rare is it getting a well made fruitcake?

Can't go wrong with popcorn, unless it is stale..

Having a cake designer for a wife, I'd say the chances of my getting a good fruitcake are pretty high. Maybe she could make me some fancy caramel popcorn too, but somehow, I suspect the goodness of that has a lower ceiling. As for commercially done stuff, it seems to me that they are always stale.

Are you kidding? The big tin of popcorn is an excuse not to buy groceries for like, 2 months!! That stuff is never-ending!
