Oh...I got a new idea! McGrady, Rafer, Deke, Bonzi for Baron, Pietrus, Foyle and a second round pick OR... McGrady, Rafer, Deke for Bibby, Kenny Thomas, John Salmons
I can't see anyone trading for McGrady until he's in the last year of his contract. He is damaged goods. Any trade proposal that includes him is unrealistic.
you are right m_cable... but then I would have advocated... trading Steve and Cuttino for younger players...and or draft picks... come out and say we are rebuilding.... if you are going to build a team around the potential of a a dominating center... do it right and nothing should be half a$$ about it...
10? Unfortunately, that might be the case here: rockets wait until tmac's last year of his contract and then trade him, and won the ring next season. That would be about yao's 10th season in NBA.
The "worst case scenario" doesn't have to come to pass. I don't think he is being treated as comprehensively as he could be. I have a feeling that nutritional supplements and other pain management therapies that aren't "orthodox" are not being tried -- or if they are they are being too conservative, not allowing sufficient time for them to work. Following the standard course of medical treatment is too often restrictive. Chronic problems do not always have to be chronic. But we live in a "drug happy" society... T-mac should solicit help on his own in addition to what the "team" trainers and doctors are offering.
Please stop and never post this incorrectness again! When a player is waived or has a contract buy out that buyout hits the cap for the length of the bought out contract. McGrady's buyout would be substantial and provide little to nothing in the way of cap relief.
Real worst case scenario Tracy misses 40 games, we fall just short of 8th seed. We get 14th pick and choose some unknown commodity from overseas who won't play for another 2 yrs. Deke and Juwan gets an extension.........................for 4 more years Rafer gets a Nene deal even though Mike Bibby or Billups could've been had at the same price. We trade Head and (Snyder or Wells) to the Knicks for Jerome James. We sign Vin Baker, again. We trade Battier, Vspan, and Novak for Stromile Swift (who had a miracle 2nd half to lead Memphis into that 8th seed a bump us out the playoffs by 1 game) Isiah Thomas is hired as a consultant after being fired from the Knicks. JVG and his staff is fired and replaced by The Screwed Up Click
For most Chinese fans, all they care about is Yao getting a ring, it really doesn't matter which team he plays for. Right now they are the Rockets fan. If Yao gets traded, they would turn to other teams in a heart beat. So don't blame me for being a Chinese fan. That's in my blood. For Rockets fans, you always have a chance to win a Championship. As a matter of fact, you already got two. For Chinese fans, there's only one Yao, and we don't see many of his kind coming in the near future. The last thing we want to see is Yao playing all his heart out and ending up just to be another K.G. . But what am I talking about here? Yao would never leave Houston, and Rockets' Management wouldn't trade him in at least 8 years. So those trading Yao ideas are just my fantasy, they are non-sense talking. Forget about it then.
I never cared about the argument that we had regarding YOF in the past but this post makes me think that YOF is really annoying! Rockfan94
I've watched Rashard torch every pro he's play against in the Fonde summer league and that includes Ron Artest. He gave Artest fits. I say we trade Alston, Bonzi, Juwan (expiring contract) for Earl Watson and Rashard. I spoke with Rashard mom and one of his goals is to play for the hometown Rockets. Moneyball dude, lets get this right this time. Tracy is done like Bush for a 3rd term.

So you're saying that, for example, Alonzo Mourning's deal still counts against the Raptors' cap? If that's the case, Les may have to pay the luxury tax throughout TMac's deal if he wants to field a contending team. Because TMac just isn't going to be dependable.
Either you have no idea what you are talking about or you are just saying that in order to make Yao's fans in general look bad here. It's really hard to tell what's really in your mind when you seem to try so hard (or say too hard) to make your intention as obvious as possible.
Yao is staying in Houston because he is the deffinition of loyal. Rockets wouldn't trade their best player period (at least not until he is on the decline). I am Chinese and I want Yao to win but I want him to win in Houston. I live here so this is my team. TMAC needs to come back and prove himself. He probably will not make it the rest of the season without breaking down but that' life. He is here and with his back and max salary, he is literally untradable. Battier needs to step up big time as a scorer instead of just a glue guy. Head needs to learn some B-ball IQ. Alston needs to NOT drive because he can't finish to safe his life. And he doesn't dish out anymore when he drives. Bonzi needs to get hot quick. Are we going to see KillBill or Novak anytime soon?
