Something else I just thought of. Some of yall mentioned Ryan Bowen. OK look as much of a cornball that guy was and is...he put everything into his defense. Dude played freakin hard. Lets not forget how he just about annoyed the hell out of Dirk Nowizki during the first round of the playoffs a couple yrs back. Good enough for JVG to start him in the playoffs. Not bad for a cornball.
I am going to say Charles Barkley. He was good on his own but I don't think he was good for the character of this team.
Serge Zwikker From his Wikipedia page: Zwikker was selected by the Houston Rockets with the first pick of the second round (30th overall) in the 1997 NBA Draft, and spent one season on the Rockets' bench. To date, he has not recorded minutes in a single NBA game.
How about 5 worst PGs to ever wear a Rockets uniform? 1. Matt Maloney 2. Emanual Davis 3. Randy Livingston 4. Eldridge Recasner 5. Bryce Drew Dishonorable mention (non-PG) Glen Rice
Does that make T-mac a top 5 worst player too? Juwan surely wasn't the type of PF that would get you over the hump as a starter but he is far from the top 5 worst players in Houston Rocket history.
1. Pippen 2. Kelvin Cato 3 Matt Maloney 4. Moochie Norris 5 Mo Taylor Next on the list: Vin Baker, Carlos Rogers, Bryce Drew, "two sandwiches" Hamilton, tito Maddux, Rodrick rhodes, Charles Oakley, Tyrone Lue, Stromile Swift, John Amaechi, Dan Langhi, Luther Head. I'm gonna leave V-span out because he got us Scola!
I kept quiet when ppl mention Bowen. But, Howard? dude, respect for that veteran. Back in 06 season, when Yao& Tracy both went down, the 34 yr-old fought his butt off to keep the rockets from falling. He might not be the best PF, but he's most definitely not among the worst, and he is well respected among rocket fans, at least from me.
You guys have never failed to amaze me. How could Kelvin Cato be worse than players like Vin Baker who hadn't done a damn thing with the Rockets jersey on?
Wow, so many memories.... There was a player we drafted, I think during the Stevie Franchise years, and he was HUGE.....and it turned out that was about all he had going for him. I think as a Rockets fan if I was asked on the street and didnt think too hard about it, my list would be: 1. Kelvin Cato 2. Matt Maloney 3. Bryce Drew 4. Scottie Pippen 5. The big dude I mentioned above.
Isn't that the year the Rockets completely sucked? If he fought his butt off and got the Rockets to play at a respectable level, I'd understand your point better. But we would have won more games that year with a Chuck Hayes straight out of the D-league taking Juwan's and Stromile's minutes. Juwan Howard doesn't qualify to be on a "worst 5 players" list; I'll give you that.
He should have gotten more. Well, ok that might not have worked out for the best. We would have won more games and dropped further in the lottery.
