I have no problem with either. Here's what I have a problem with: 1. No more JP (I'm ok with Matt Thomas on radio) 2. Clyde 3. Bullard
still think Ackerman is just learning the ropes re: television, I've listened to an awful lot of radio games and he is absolutely superb for that. He just needs to tone it down for TV, he has to realize that people have the game in front of them and they can actually WATCH it, the play by play is gravy and doesn't need to be laid on thick.
As far as voice and style it's Bill hands down. But his little cliche phrases start to get old "he shot that from Baytown" "Ariza with the Twoza" "triple Decker" "and James says. . . .I can do that TOO" I just don't care for Ackerman's voice. NOT as abrasive as Calvin. lol But not real easy to listen to for a 3 hour game
lol at people picking on Ackerman's voice. Thirty or forty years from now when he retires from broadcasting, folks will love him. And I bet when Phil Rizzuto or Harry Caray both started out, people complained about their voices too.
Bill is more entertaining, CA is more knowledgeable. Josh Innes is similar to Bill, and Pallilo is like Craig.
It is time for Worrell to go, he is still good, but he messes up the names a lot, and he misses calls, this is the first sign of Harry Carey syndrome, and I don't want to see that happen to him. Happy with the Rox decision here. Let us remember Bill as a hero and stellar broadcaster, and not a shell of his former self. DD
So much hate on Bill. It doesn't help his senility that they moved everyone in the broadcasting segment further away from the court. I'm very confused why they did that... being able to hear player convos and ref convos seem like it would be beneficial to the broadcast.
