Eddie may have had his faults, but it was wrong the way they were talking about a troubled young kid who is recently deceased. I was very surprised what they said.

That was definitely in bad taste. Did not expect that from Worrell.

They weren't "stomping on a man's grave" either.

When Clyde brought up that draft day trade, I thought they were going to at least acknowledge that Eddie passed on, but they were actually making jokes.

This is ridiculous. Eddie Griffin had a good college career and played a handful of seasons in the NBA. How many aspiring basketball players can say that? He was a talented guy, just couldn't keep his head straight. It was tragic what happened to him. Pretty tastless from Clyde and dissapointment from Bill.

I don't see the problem with acknowledging that the trade was a bust on our end because we lost richard jefferson, but Clyde just kept on goin about the man and his play. That i agree was unnecessary. We all know the story behind Eddie and his lack of desire to be a great basketball player, no need to rehash.

I think Bill was the one to compare him to Andy Griffith. But Clyde jumped onto that thought and said he played more like Gomer Pyle.

I thought it was in poor taste. It's one thing to acknowledge that the 3 for 1 trade backfired and comment on it. But when you start making jokes about him having as much game as Gomer Pyle, relatively soon after his death, that's a little out of line.

    I miss Kevin Murphy!!

I noticed a bit of Bill's reluctance to say the name and wondered for a sec, but got caught by the game action, I totally forgot EG's accident until I clicked this thread!

I also figured that Clyde didn't recall, but I didn't think Bill would forget... so yeah .... inapprorpiate, uncool, surprising.

I've always likened Bill style to EJ's, slways on top and smoothing things over. Maybe Bill's losing a little of his touch.

I mentioned it in the game thread. Clyde couldn't take the hint so Bill tried to lighten the mood but made it worse IMO.

They might've forget that Eddie Griffin, but it was completely insensitive on both of their parts.

Maybe someday they'll say, couldn't C.D. "see" that Mo Taylor, Maloney, Moochie, etc. sucked?

haha, as someone else said drexler is indeed slow, i guarantee you he either didn't know or didn't remember. drexler is and was one of the classiest professionals, i don't think he would purposely say something that cold.

it was hard not to notice, but they stuck to commenting on his basketball skills (and they were accurate). i don't think they meant to be tasteless, and knowing that they both have class, i don't think it was that big of a deal. tragic story nonetheless

I don't think Clyde remember about Griffin's death, because for a few seconds he was trying to remember the name of the player from the bad draft day trade. Then Worrell tried to move away by saying we don't talk about that (Clyde laughed a little bit....thinking we don't talk about it because it was a bad trade...but I think Worrell was thinking about Griffin's death). Then Clyde remembered Griffin's name and dogged him a bit.
