As a person who have played WoW on and off for the last 4 years. I recommend that you don't tread those waters.
It is entertaining and can be very addictive. If your an adult and choose for WoW to be the drug you abuse...than so be it...it was probably going to be something. I really think that the story is different with kids....which make up a good portion of WoW subscribers. I guarantee you that I would not be the man I am if WOW was available when I was in middle school. Why force yourself to socialize as an awkward hormonal kid when you can be a demi-god for 17 dollars a month? As someone else said....enter parents. I really worry about how this game affects kids. ahem... Chnook 76 Mage Zazi 61 Deathknight Chnooks bank lvl 1 Priest
I had a friend a while back that played WoW the whole day and while he sleeps, his computer plays it for him. And oh yeah...he hacks too
There was no WoW in my days yet I still managed to get addicted to MUDs. Don't know what these are? The granddaddy of all games multiplayer... I have never touched anything MMO since, still went back to MUDs every now and then, but for only very short stints. For a single player RPG that is plain good fun and humour - try King's Bounty: The Legend. It was developed by the Russians! No, it really is a refreshing game. Nice nostalgia for those old folks who played the first incarnation of King's Bounty or Might and Magic or even later the HOMM series. SS999 Wait, why am I here?

I think it's "Did we just become BEST friends?!" I know some people that play WoW. It's all the individual. I mean, some guys play Madden or Halo for multiple hours a day. Some people watch tv for hours a day. It's just about balancing your time. I agree with the poster on the parenting. It's not a game that is making a kid a loser or whatever.
