Stupid fouls and dumb challenges is pretty much a normal game for Jones. Can't believe some folks thought he was in the running to be captain...

I'm hoping for a better game with more posession from Bradley against Mexico. Although, they've been content to let Jones get up more than Bradley tonight.

    Well...3 points is 3 points.

Especially impressed with Beasley and Guzan tonight. Most all played well. The midfield completely disappeared in the 2nd half. Can't entirely blame them due to the conditions. My biggest concern is Geoff Cameron. He played terrible, IMO. Bad fouls. Bad giveaways. The only thing you had to do tonight is make less mistakes than the opponent. He made many. The rest of the back line did very well, though.

Altidore played the way he should be playing. Back to goal and create.

    Well done boys!

Ugh and this is why I never go to any American sites to talk about Mexico sports. Calling us sissy? Whatever.

    (I realize it's a bit random lol)

It was only directed at the 2 who wanted the game called after the US scored.

Not "called"... postponed. Better conditions, safer so that you didn't have to have people plowing DURING the game, at least. They get hydration breaks now, and... you're not protesting those, are you?
    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/26/s...les-protest-wants-snowy-us-game-replayed.html

 Why are you even worried or asking about that, if as your boy says, only "sissies" complain about conditions like the one on Friday in Colorado?

Heck, even NFL games have been postponed like the SLV officials team should have done.

I wonder if they would have protested had they tied or won? Nope. Only doing it because they're butt-hurt that they lost. They were given the chance by the referee when the game was stopped in the 55th. They chose to play on. I would have no complaints had the game been postponed before it started.

If anyone should b**** about the conditions of an opposing team's field, it should be those that are forced to play at that piece of s*** Saprissa Stadium in...Costa Rica. Working in the synthetic turf industry as I do, that field is an embarrassment and is dangerous (poor seams, wrinkles, etc).

FIFY. As far as I can tell, it's happened exactly 1 time ever.

I will be in San Fran at GDC for tomorrows game at Asstecka - but will be sure to carve out some time to watch.

Mexico needs the game a lot more than the USA does at this point, getting 1 point out of that match would be massive for the USA.

A golden point, getting 3 would be nirvana.

    REALLY?

Did you skip the 1920s and 1930 paragraph ONLY FOR CONVENIENCE, mister reader?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancelled_NFL_games#1920s_and_1930s ??

POSTPONED, not cancelled. Get it right. You can play when conditions improve. Games in the NFL have even been RESCHEDULED, moved to a different location, etc. The players on Friday played in the snow WITHOUT helmets, WITHOUT padded shoulders and legs, etc., for a chance to qualify to play AGAINST THE WORLD, not for playing inside a dome in February. Remember that.

I don't know what you're winking at, DD, but regardless, whether it were my grandma playing, U.S.A., or even Kazakhstan, I'd say they have a right to protest. I am not sure if they'll get it, but they can do that. I honestly believe that it should have been postponed.

leroy where did you see that they were given a choice to stop it? I haven't seen that anywhere. Was it official or just some reporter saying he heard it? Honestly. I want to know.

Seriously? A game in 1935 is where you're going to support your argument? Ok...you got me. 2 games in 78 years.

Logistically, it would have been a nightmare to postpone the game as they would have had to play it w/in 48 hours. Both teams have games on Tuesday.

Hmmmmm...I wonder who would gain an advantage by having the US play a game on Sunday and then have to travel to mexico City to play again on Tuesday?

Who is even mentioning to have it on Sunday? I never said that. I said later, but not two days after. That wouldn't be right, either. STFU, now you're making iSht up. Sunday was going to be the worst of the storm. They mentioned this on the Spanish broadcast. I wouldn't call for a game Sunday.

I never even thought about Mexico benefitting from that. How is that, if it's stopping it for the safety of those in the Friday game? All six teams played.

Awful defensive there. I never said you said anything about Sunday. They said during the broadcast, courtesy of the match commissioner, that a postponed game had to be played within 48 hours. That's the information I'm going on.

Had they postponed and played by Sunday, there would be 2 teams that would have been severely affected having to play 2 games in 2 different countries in 2 days.

It's irrelevant anyway. The game was played. It would be shocking if FIFA threw it out and made them replay it.

OK, and I never said YOU said that I said that. If all that's going to happen, I do not think they would have allowed Mexico to play USA again if they had played on Sunday, nor Costa Rica (the other team involved in the reschedule) vs. Jamaica on Tuesday. Again, no one should benefit from postponing the games. Just don't let some controversial stuff like this happen. If the refs gave CRC a chance to stop the game, and they didn't take it, well, then that was their choice... but if they weren't given a choice, then now a protest is totally right.

I agree, they should protest, can't hurt. I am just pointing out that you would be for ANYTHING that gave Mexico an advantage.

Nope. You both are again piling up against me, like always, because you thought I was trying to get Mexico to benefit, while I'm not, DD. I had not even considered how close the other games were. Maybe play again Saturday and then Wednesday? ALL teams?
