About the best draw I could get for USA was a Colombia, Greece, Algeria grouping. Most of the sims I did got us a combination with Spain, Germany Portugal, France and Italy.

The draw for everybody looks very tough in 2014. There are no "how did they get here?" teams like there were in 2010 (think: Slovakia, Slovenia, North Korea, etc.).

Who gives a crap about whom you are grouped with? If you're good, you're good.

Qualifying for the World Cup Brazil 2014 CONCACAF Final Round is over... so... this thread is dead. Now, ON to the draw!

Wait, really? You can't be serious about that statement. Would you rather be in a group with Brazil, Spain and Portugal or Japan and Algeria? There's a reason the phrase "Group of Death" exists.

Why can't I be serious? I don't care whom Mexico plays.

Who cares whom you play 1st or last? Anyone can surprise anyone else. Costa Rica beat Scotland in 90... Senegal beat France back in 2002... Switzerland beats Spain in 2010... heck, USA vs. England 1-1... who cares if you face THREE powerhouses in the first round or one? Why can't I be serious about the seeding and draw being meaningless?

Do you want to get to the World Cup? Beat anyone on the pitch, whether it's Japan, Algeria, or Brazil. Simple.

There is one team that's asking, "How did we get here?"

Lol USA-England is a terrible example compared to the other 2 you used...more like 02 USA-Portugal is more upset.

Anyone can tie England they are not a power.

No doubt, I think the USA and UK are on just about equal footing these days.

England is not the power the country thinks they are but talent-wise they are miles ahead of the US. The problem is mental/team dynamics because first and foremost the English team has to compete with their home country's ridiculous expectations - if they don't live up to "greatest ever" they will be a huge disappointment. As a result they often will choke or don't play as a team, etc.

That used to be the case, but since Gascoigne stopped playing they lack creativity on the pitch, and a lot of their better players are Irish or Welsh and dont play for team England.

I think the top 15 or so are comparible, with Rooney being the best but team USA being more evenly talented top to bottom.
