Roster changes for Panama game OUT: Donovan, Howard, Besler, Jones IN: Sean Johnson in to back up Guzan Apparently, Donovan was playing on a bad ankle and Jones isn't fully healed from his knee injury of a few weeks ago. Besler and Howard were simply released to go back to their clubs so that Juregen could give Guzan and Clarence Goodson a start.
I believe Panama still gets in with a win and a Mexico loss. I know as of now Panama still has an edge with goal difference.
You are correct. If panama wins and Mexico loses then Panama takes over the 4th spot and faces New Zealand. For Mexico to pass Honduras in the standings, Mexico has to win and Honduras has to lose, but the difference has to be more than 1 goal (Mexico wins by 2 goals and Honduras loses by 1, etc). Since Honduras is facing last place Jamaica, chances are Mexico either get eliminated or has to face New Zealand.
This was in part a dig at the president who while fielding questions regarding a kickback/bribery scam the other day live on national television lost his mind (he's bipolar, seriously) and started screaming fokeen this and fokeen that. It was excellent theater.
