It definitely wasn't pretty offensively. With what one or two shots total and none on goal? But points are points and it is a win in my books. Amazing job by the back four.
I'm a huge fan of US soccer and would be the first to admit that Mexico is clearly the more talented team. Nice & lucky to get a point.
Totally jazzed, we watched the game here in San Francisco, and the mood of the bar was electric, even for a draw. Nice result. DD
Am I the only one that thought Hercules Gomez was absolutely shocking today? He doesn't even look like a LW to me WTF.
"Say that again? You're breaking up just like your team at Azteca last night! " When your USA Soccer fan friends have jokes on the phone... true story this morning.
Which one(s)? What's done is done. I don't complain afterwards about stuff refs don't call. I don't know about my fellow Mexican fans. I'm still pissed at how the U.S. only brings their A game vs. Mexico (see Honduras). Yes, I'm mad, BROs. We're not that far behind the leader and we can possibly all be tied for 2nd after June 4th if we can at least get a tie, but I'm confident we will win at Kingston the way Jamaica looked last night. Honduras helped us out last night by bending over and taking it up the booty at Panama City.
Glad I can finally cheer for Omar Gonzalez  He's going to be fun to watch as he continues to grow into the lead CB position for the USMNT. One of the things that did make a difference to me compared to years past was the size we can have in the back four now (that's what she said ). With Cameron (though he can stand to improve his play), Gonzalez, and Goodson, we have a chance to clear a lot of corner kicks and win some of the aerial 50/50 balls. I liked the way the Americans worked yesterday and defended as a collective unit. That's the kind of grit and teamwork that came to personify the 2010 World Cup squad. They do have a couple of areas they need to shore up or at least could use a talent infusion. My mind always wonders if we'll see Stu Holden back in form and playing for the USMNT.... Like I said earlier, I don't care if we were the better side or not, just wanted to get out of there with a result; mission accomplished.
Mexican press will eat Chepo alive...! I know there will be more, but these are funny already: Please help CAPTION  : "Good thing the Mexican uniform is black, too... "
