I used to listen to music while I workout but I always found myself dancing to my workouts and that is just pretty well....distracting Now I just get in there do my business and get the hell out or play some ball.
Yeah, same here, Shigeru Umebayshi and Itzahk Perlman help out with the triceps/gluts. Seriously though, I listen to those when i'm thinking, and not working out
I have both, and I find oakenfold is more more intense. Sasha and digweed is so much more based on journey's instead of invoking emotion and drive. But of course, thats one man's opinion (albeit, the right one j/k.)

Whip it. Whip it Good. It's not too late. So Whip it. Whip it GOOD. My wife absolutely hates this one. It was the GYM TEACHER's favorite in high school and now she cringes every time she hears it because it reminds her of the class... Plus, she's reading this. ------------------------------------- Mi esposa absolutamente odia esta. Era la favorita de la MAESTRA DE EDUCACIóN FíSICA en la prepa y ahora ella tiembla cada vez que la oye porque le recuerda la clase... además, ella está leyendo esto.
Anything by DMX gets me pumped up but especially "Ruffryders Anthem". Now I am jamming "Late Registration" in my MP3 Player. Haters hate all you want, but we have another classic! (I am not a bandwagon fan either, I got the "college dropout" first day it came out, not sucked up weeks later after he blew up)
I'd have to say any RAGE is good. I think some AC/DC (Back in Black) or some Guns and Roses works well. Lately, the two most recent Jimmy Eat World cds have been good workout music for me. In the hip hop world, the Big Boi cd from the Outkast double album, or Aquemini. I think Jeff said it best- if it makes you happy or pissed, you've got a winner.
Working out to music doesn't work for me. I just get distracted and lose focus. Besides, anyone who really needs a song to get motivated for anything is a tool.
Don't need the songs for motivation, just a distraction. I like working out, but the music keeps me going, longer. It's Viagra for my muscles. Call me a victim of the 'multimedia-fication' of our generation. Thank you all for your two cents... keep them coming!
