McGrady asking you to stay humble is like Mike Tyson asking you to go vegan.

But Tyson did become a vegan.

So I guess there is a chance?

I wish Tracy did work hard, that would have been awesome.

Nah I actually just googled it and it was the first thing that popped up. Didn't know it was Tmac. Still a pretty good quote especially for this season.

This was a mantra started by Hakeem in 1995, "Humble but hungry"

    MacGrady just paraphrased it.

Dream attributed it to his reaffirmation of his Muslim faith during the mid 90's
and the whole team adopted the quote and the attitude during the 1995 playoffs

They made shirts with that motto on it in 1995. Hakeem said it repeatedly during that championship run.

So is he the originator? I don't remember its use before 1995, but now I hear it all the time.

If you've ever stayed in Hungary, you'd be humble too. ;)

Riiiiight - He probably made the NBA and averaged 30-6 in the playoffs for the Rockets without any hard work.

Imagine if he had tried - 75 ppg?

McGrady was no more arrogant than 95% of superstar pro athletes.

Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, etc... were/are more, "Work Hard, Whip Your Big **** Out"

Arrogant assholes win alot, moreso than "nice guys" I would say. Humble not any part of their vocabulary.
