Been working from home since 2020, don't need any of the pat on the back or celebration crap. I get my work done as efficiently as possible, less crap to deal with in my home office than at the actual office.....
I was only partially joking about the celebration of successes being your paycheck line. When I first started my career a.k.a. "real jobs", I always liked the pats on the back and "attaboys", but as I got older, I really didn't care. I turned into an Elon workbot - you get paid for what you do, so be happy or move on. As long as I liked what I was doing, didn't get credit stolen for what I was doing (which happened more than I cared) and was being paid fairly, I didn't care about any pats on the back, free outings to steakhouses, etc. I think years of both contracting and permanent employment jaded me.
I'm a poor without the option to WFH and can only dream of such luxuries. So, genuine question. Are meetings at a bar for happy hour prohibited when you WFH, or is it just understood that since you WFH, you do not socialize with others?
