THANKS. Hopefully, from now on, he can try to recover to 100% by keeping playing.

Good news indeed. "Add oil", TMAC! :D

It was mostly all in his head, I will be pissed if he continues with that weak ass looking limp though. Don't show your opponents that your hurting. Geez

You knew this is gonna be a loss, with or without him.

without TMAC playing, a loss could be easier to swallow than with TMAC and loss.

The Good News Golden State doesn't play good defense.

The Bad News is if T-mac is still struggling moving laterally then this could be a rough game for him.

I think it's quite self evident why you are unhappy. Nobody wants him to play poorly and then sit out for a long period. Yesterday's report about him feeling sore after practice is not a good indicator of what might happen today. I feel his teammates will be tentative unless he plays solidly though out the entire game.

TMac is being a man & stepping up like Ron did when he was out.

IMO, he is showing that he is a team player.

U know , im also starting to get really angry when i read people in other forums talking about him being done as a star player. Like people have really mailed it in on Tmac , saying he will never be an All Star again. It really ticks me off when people say this, but oart of me can't really argue against that

sad that coaches don't feel the same way :( . but i hope they do so he gets single coverages all day.

but it only takes tracy to make one shot and he gets a double team everywhere he goes.

    TMAC responds to the criticisms

SAN FRANCISCO – This time, Tracy McGrady hit back.

McGrady declared himself ready to return to the floor on Friday, but not before answering those that questioned why he was out.

"People question my toughness," he said. "They don’t know what I went through just to make it through the season last year and through the playoffs. My knee was jacked up, very jacked up. All the talking, it’s quite funny to me. If people really knew what I went through to even suit up for the playoffs last year, that’s credit I don’t get for trying to go out and win for my team and for this organization.

"I can’t stop (the criticism.) I’m not going to go in a dark closet and hide by any means. It’s funny that people want to come up with their own assumptions of me. They don’t know what I go through. Yeah, I’ve missed some games. I missed a lot of games. It’s not like I’m trying to go out there and hurt myself. That’s how the body is sometimes. It breaks down. You have injuries. It happens."

McGrady missed the past seven games to strengthen his left leg and alleviate some of the pain in his knee. He had surgery to remove loose bodies in the knee in May but was unable to play or practice through much of the preseason.

He said he is not pain-free, but has improved greatly since he last played Nov. 24 in Miami. McGrady has averaged 15.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and four assists this season, scoring in single digits in five of his 15 games.

"I feel pretty good, well enough to suit up," McGrady said. "This really has been part of the process. I had surgery back in May. It takes six to nine months to recover. I came back too early. That’s what people don’t understand. All the bickering about, ‘Oh, he’s out again.’ No, I never should have come back. It’s like damn if I do, damn if I don’t.

"Had I never come back and improved through the regular season, none of this talk would be going on. But because I wanted to do something for my team, getting us off to a great start, because we had a tough schedule, that’s what I wanted to do, felt like was needed and played through 15 games.

"I got us off to a good start, 10-5 when I left and sat out. Then, when I left, everybody talked like it was a different injury or something. You know, I looked at the schedule and it was pretty favorable with me being out and my guys going out and winning some ballgames without me. So I took a couple weeks off to rehab, get my knee strong, and now, I’m back.

"It’s a lot stronger. I feel better than I did back in training camp. I’m not 100 percent, but I feel a lot better. I feel like I can go out there and be myself."

McGrady said he might always play in pain, but said he can deal with the pain he has now and is hopeful he will continue to improve.

"That was told to me, that I won’t fully recover, but we’ll see," he said. "Right now, I feel good. I still have a little pain in my knee, but it’s nothing like it was a couple weeks ago."

If some questioned how it felt then, McGrady made it clear how he felt about their doubts.

I think if he plays tonight, it's not gonna be that many minutes. We're still gonna have to pound it into Yao to get things going.
