They often put up items twice. So you may catch it again.

woot.com sells one item per day till they run out at a very good discount the new item of the day goes up at midnight eastern?

basically a wootoff is when there is multiple items that go on sale, one at a time at even better discounts (i am not sure on this) so basically if a camera is the first thing up for sale it will stay up there till its sold out and then the next item comes up for sale.

i think they go through 8-10 items i could be wrong though but thats the basic recap of what it is

woot.com is a website that specializes, I believe they actually started, the 1 deal a day business model. Basically, they offer one product for an entire 24 hour period for sale and add a new product for 24 hours after that one and so on.

Every so often the have a woot off. This is where they offer 1 product at a time and when it sells out they'll put up another item for sale until it sells out and keep doing this until the woot off ends. I would say there is an average of 1 woot off per month. These can last less than a day or several days.

woot offs are popular because of the multiple items offered and they often contain the infamous Bag of Crap (BOC). These are not exclusive to woot offs but there is usually at least one offering during woot offs. You can buy 1 bag (up to 3) for $1 each plus $5 shipping for each BOC bought. These are popular because sometimes there are some high-priced electronics or other gifts given away but most of the time it is just random crap.

Woot-Off, to me, is woot's way to get rid of their random crap fast. I've rarely seen items worth having during woot-offs, while their regular one-day-sale items are generally of higher quality. For example, their last three items were:

a fireplace DVD screensaver for 0.01 (o rly?)
Disney princess 3MP camera (good for fathers with daughters? i dunno)
"Hip Hop Hippies" (why why why *facepalm*)

I tend to agree with this. Overall though, I'd say Woot's overall quality has gone down over the last couple of years.

There was a time when exactly at midnight I would be on woot.

    Now, I barely even check.

True story. I find myself checking 1saleaday.com instead. 3 deals for the entire day which are usually better than whatever woot has to offer.

I got one of the 80g Zunes. My current player doesn't do video and I haven't had any problems with my sister's zune.

I agree that woot offs tend to suck, but occasionally there is something I think is worth the cost.

July 22nd was the ending of the last woot off...so I'm figuring this week one is due. That being said...I'll have to agree with the previous posts that 1saleaday.com has a consistently better selection than woot.

I think Woot could do with some better planning. they seem to start these Woot-Offs always the day before I get paid.

    A $520 9-piece knife block set.

Are you serious? $520 for nine knives?
