    $200bn + $100bn + $200bn = $.5bn

Fresh Math. Cheers sucks. So does Frazier.

I wonder what Dharma and Greg think about the war. Any rebuttal from Meredith Baxter Birney? Any recommendations from the cast of Two Guys a Girl And A Pizza Place?

Personally, I just want to know what the immortal John Ritter thinks about all this.

I absolutely loved that! I love it when people drop in known but obscure references! I wish someone like Mathew McConahoweverthehellyouspellit would give a quote. It would probably go something like this, "MAn I don't know a damn thing about those people. Why in the hell are you asking me? I know how to do three things. I know how to hang out with high chool chicks because they stay the same age. I know how to kill dragons. And I know how to smoke weed. Now go eat a bowl of ****."

Hence, celebrity opinions are more important to them than those of the average Joe because they bring in readers.

I'm enjoying watching RM95 get picked apart like a piece of roadkill by a flock of buzzards.

RM95 -- I'm curious to know your opinion on emissions reduction ideas. Quotas or tariffs? Nah, nevermind, I'll just go ask Wesley Snipes.

The person giving the opinions are more important to the paper, not the opinions.

Can any one human being really be this stupid? Maybe he wrote this article after he and Woodman went for those beers.

Why in the WORLD would anyone get happy, mad, sad or glad about ANYTHING Woody Freaking Harrelson has to say? Who the hell cares?

And arguing over it? What's up with that? It's WOODY HARRELSON! That's like asking Bevis and/or Butthead their opinion. I know, I'll talk to Crispin Glover and Tonya Harding. Maybe they have some worldviews worth hearing.

I'm beginning to think we can turn ANYTHING into a liberal vs. conservative argument.

    LOL! :D

my point exactly...i think what most of this discussion (at least earlier) was centered around was why so much attention was paid to the political comments of celebrities. while i disagree with what woody has to say, it's not the content of his argument that i was talking about here...it's the idea that these guys opinions are published as if they are of importance...like it's headline news. As you say, "who the hell cares?"

wait...Heston as an actor or not is the president of a HUGE lobbying power...his opinions on certain topics are relevant not because he was/is a celebrity..but because of his role with that organization...O'Reilly I won't argue with, but at least he's specifically paid to keep up with this stuff at the very least...he interviews the newsmakers, at the very least.

you're comparing those two with an actress and a singer who show up at the occasional rally? (unless there's more to those 2 that i don't know).

but i'll throw some conservatives out there if you want...arnold...bruce willis...

But if I could just get a glimpse inside the wonderous mind of Richard Gere. I so wonder what his thoughts are on nuclear proliferation, homeland security, the volatile marketplace and the appropriate response to the terrorist acts of 9-11.

I agree. This is totally out of control. Some papers even print political opinions from pro wrestlers and cowboy movie actors. Insane.

Heston is a figure head. Wayne LaPierre sets the agenda for the NRA, NOT Heston. Heston is there because he's a popular, well-respected actor, not because he is a policy maker.

    Same reason Reagan was prez.

Sub Bush for Heston and Cheney for LaPierre and it reads about the same.

What evidence do you have to support this? Read a lot of NRA publications?

Bill O'Reilly is better-informed than 90 percent of this BBS. He makes a poor example of someone whose opinion should be casually dismissed.

BK: Thanks for proving the point that no thread can possibly be safe from conservative vs. liberal arguments.

Yeah, I don't quite see how O'Reilly and Streisand are comparable.
