He is dependent on playmakers. His ISO game is okay but not elite yet IMHO. Against Denver, a somewhat 'elite team' his rebounding was suspect and Jokic toyed around. Jokic is the Euro version, unathletic, playmaking and less defensive Hakeem of this generation. Wood reminded me of a young Chris Bosh on Offense. And that's a compliment because Raptor Bosh was a force to be reckoned with. Wood goes straight up for the flush, his hook shots are not really great yet.
This is true, but he's much less dependent on playmakers than Capela was/is, so he's better than anything we've had at the 4/5 since Yao (with apologies to DMo)
He had a play against the Kings last night when he was easily trapped under the basket and had to call a Time Out in the beginning of the game to bail himself out. I do not think he is as physically imposing and intimidating as some of the elite bigs such as Garnett.
As of right now, no. He needs to add something like 20 lbs of muscle, perhaps a bit more. What I like are his hands and his scoring touch, those are things you really can't teach. Anyone can be put in a weight room in order to add assmass. Give him a few years focusing on adding bulk and I think he'll be an outright monster.
Ok, the 25 points was before last night. He is at 23.8 I predict 22-11 with 1.5 blocks. Not Dream but still outstanding
Last thing I want are those 1 on 1 practices where Dream encourages his student to demand Bol and be unbeetabol. They've only worked for Big Yao and Kobe. Say no to those dream lessons. Be who you are, Christian Wood. 25/12.
I don’t want him to bulk up and possibly lose part of his game. He cuts through with his wirey self. He is quick and mobile. I don’t want him to change a thing he is 4.5 —> it is coach’s job to put him in winning situations. We need a Hartinstien type on our team for match ups not to change what is working. Wood can make the same plays along side a center if the center is playing in the high post (outside the paint). —> Where is Brad Miller when you need him? Lol
