https://www.thedreamshake.com/2022/...rockets-have-talked-extension-nba-rumors-2022 Guess the draft rumors could be true …. ( if this has been posted lock it up and sorry )
Sounds like a Stone move unfortunately. Great in the draft so far - but terrible w free agency and mediocre with trades.
If there is an extension, how team friendly could it be where it'd be a net plus? Even if we end up trading him, would trading him when he's guaranteed many more years be favorable to him and the team? If so, at what number?
How has he been bad with trades? Fleeced the Nets, landed KPJ for nothing, turned two protected picks into Sengun…
Since no one has done it already: I’ve been getting wood extension emails for years now… Been trying to extend my wood for years.. And so forth
Wood was horribly at defense last year, but part of me is rooting for an extension of Wood just for the meltdown on this board by the overly melodramatic. Wood or no Wood, I don't see it impacting wins or losses much.
And hoping it’s talks like this with Wood for extension “ Hey Wood , this team wants you and they will sign an extension for you , we can make that happen buts it’s not going to be here .”
I'll react to it when I see it. Could be Wood's side trying to secure an extension or they could just be formal talks. Going through the motions kind of thing.
His trade value must be super low. Maybe we sign him and he outperforms and repairs some of his reputation and then we trade him when his value is higher and Wood has his contract he wants? Once we buyout Wall and trade Gordon after showcasing him in the starting lineup we'll have to have contracts that fill the minimum salary cap and this coming season is another tank so could make sense to sign him into that space and then trade him later when we're ready to compete again the year after next. It's definitely a gamble. No way you want this guy long term. He's unplayable in the playoffs down the road with his terrible defense and terrible passing and he's got delusions of superstardom. He's oddly suited for the classic sixth man scorer role.
