t-wolves will be a strong offensive team if they trade for k-mart. a Love K-Mart combo could have minny fighting for an 8th seed in the near future.
The "meh" that Presti took was still not far off from the best player available. Oden was not a bust because he is a bad player, its because of his injuries. I am not sure how well respected Dumars is anymore. And Thabeet still has time.(okay maybe West is getting old) Not to nitpick because I do agree that there is still risk, but I would hardly call it substantial, especially given Morey's record. The #2 pick is no crap shoot. Even if you crap out and only get a question mark like Derrick Favors, there is still the prospect of flipping him for an established star player based on teams chasing "potential". If there is no star level talent then I have faith that they would draft the best available player. Whether that player is worth giving up Martin or not they would have figured out before doing the deal.
Bubble popper Kahn is already on record saying he has no interest in Kevin Martin from his days in SacTown. To much pay, to little impact...
DragonGirl brought that up earlier. I hope he changes his mind though  I don't see many other options. The timberwolves might have too much scoring to want Martin, and maybe they want a defensive perimeter player like Iggy or Ariza or something. We can only hope for something good to happen.
https://twitter.com/#!/DarrenWolfson/status/8816624508 There is probably radio interview online somewhere. And yes, I understand he could have changed his mind since then.
Thanks for the link. Hopefully a year of being healthy and the big hole at SG they have will help change his perception.
I'm a little leery of Derrick Williams. He played his brains out against Duke; he never showed that kind of shooting range any other time in the year. His rebounding and power game inside is going to become a moot point or at the very least a minor advantage when he finds himself as a SF among the trees in the NBA. The greatest cautionary tale in recent memory is Marvin Williams. Count me out in the Derrick Williams trade-up sweepstakes. Now Kanter is a different story; maybe we could convince Cleveland to give us 4 for 14,23 and our pick next year if they don't see anyone they like in this year's draft. Just don't have any dreams about trading Hill or T-Will. If we as Rocket fans don't even value them highly, what makes you think anyone else would want our trash?
I'd rather see us try to package our collection of firsts (2011 #14 and #23, 2012 NY 1st; 2013 Memphis 1st) to move up to #3 or #4.
I'm for pulling the trigger. I don't know what all the pieces would be, but I wouldn't let KMart keep me from getting that #2 pick.
I would give up Martin for that pick I guess, but I wouldn't want to do that. Don't think Minny would want Scola, but maybe we could utilize a 3 team deal to turn Scola+Hill+Budinger+23rd pick into the #2 pick. I would be fine with us taking Williams, Kanter or Valanciunas. I prefer Williams.
Derrick Williams was a stud all year. He's an amazing defensive player on top of a pretty polished all around game. It seems like he's the scrappy kind of player that goes along with how the rockets play. He just finally got a chance to showcase it in the tournament for everyone to see.
