Conversely, how can you say that Kevin Martin will have a better career than 90% of the draftees when they haven't played an NBA game yet?
I say don't trade up. Just use our draft picks to add some size to our team. There is plenty to go around in this draft. Some of you guys are overreacting to a situation that was pretty much already set in stone. The team is covered pretty much at every position except center and maybe another defensive three. They could still even look to trade Scola, T-Will or Yao to contending teams for late 1st round picks. Wasn't it mentioned that teams like GS, NY and Boston were possibly looking to add Yao? Or just draft Singleton at #14, Jordan Williams at #23 and Greg Smith at #38. Three players who may be able to contribute right away. Problem solved.
As if people wouldn't want to trade K-Mart fro the #2 pick. Do you want to end up with the 14th pick over over and over again?
If they would stick to the plan of just getting more inside and perimeter help, they won't even be in the lottery next season.
Yea they would only get knocked out in the first round if that happened, second round at best. This teams needs rebuild properly.
Unless the inside help is Dwight Howard, this team is not capable of beating a Dallas or OKC in a 7 game series.
Does anyone think the Bulls would give us #28 for Courtney Lee? What about Bud and #38 for a pick somewhere in the teens or the 20's? T-Will and #23 for a pick in the teens? These seem like trades that would be easier to obtain than trading up in the draft.
With any type of inside help defense or better defense on the perimeter, we could beat both. Doesn't have to be D. Howard. To get D. Howard, you would have to deplete the team, which would make him not want to come here. If Yao can stay healthy, we're set. If Thabeet can play a decent 15-20 minutes, we're set. If T-Will would play like we all know he could, we're set. We just needed someone(s) to help Chuck, Lee and Lowry out defensively. Also, a good defensive coach could help as well.
Considering that he is one of the top scorers in the league and the most efficient scorer, I would say the odds are heavily in his favor that his career will be far and away better than 90% of the draftees. If we are talking odds, it's not likely any of the draftees will be more skilled or any better than KMart offensively. Having said that, I would trade KMart to move up in the draft for a number of reasons but not because he is laking in skill or ability.
К-Mart is the only Rockets player that deserves some interest from T-Wolves because of their lack of scoring from backcourt and possible signing of Rubio Martin and Hill could be the package to get 2 overall pick and select Valanciunas but they don't have any big contracts so it would be extremely hard to make a trade and because of 45 millions of cap too
